The Department of Chemistry at MVJ College of Engineering is organising a guest lecture titled “Roadmap to a Successful Engineer” on 19th November 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:40 PM in the college auditorium. This event is specially designed for first-year B.E. students to inspire and guide them as they begin their academic journey in engineering.
The guest lecture will be given by Dr T. Ram Prabhu, Joint Director and Scientist ‘E’ at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Dr Prabhu holds a PhD in Engineering Design from IIT Madras and a Master’s degree from IISc Bangalore. With over a decade of experience in aerospace research and development, he will bring valuable insights into the design, certification, and application of advanced materials for airframe and aeroengine components. His session will highlight the evolving role of engineers in national development and the importance of innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and industry readiness.
The lecture will cover key themes including academic foundations, skill development, emerging technologies, professional ethics, and research exposure. An interactive Q&A session will follow, allowing students to engage directly with the speaker and faculty.
The event is expected to benefit over 450 first-year students by helping them gain clarity of purpose, exposure to real-world applications, awareness of essential skills, motivation to pursue meaningful careers, and strategic insights into academic planning. This foundational experience will aim to empower students to take ownership of their learning and envision a purposeful engineering future.
