Alumni Meet 2016


MVJ College of Engineering has organized “Alumni Meet 2016” on 14th May, 2016. The occasion aims at strengthening the ties between the Alumni and Alma mater. The occasion witnessed the presence of Alumni across all engineering streams, Master of business administration and Master of Computer Application.

The event commenced on an auspicious note with invocation song and lighting of the lamp. The occasion was graced by honorable chief guest, Mr. Alok Nanda, General Manager, GE Aviation, Bangalore. The Occasion was presided over by Prof. Thyagarajan, Director, Research & Development, MVJ College of Engineering and Prof. M. Brindha, Vice Principal, MVJ College of Engineering.

Addressing the gathering, Prof. M. Brindha extended a heartfelt welcome to the dignitaries, staff members, students and Alumni of the institution. She denoted the event as coming back home to remember, refresh and reconnect.

Followed by Vice Principal’s address, Prof. Asha, Head of the Department – Civil, presented the college report that shared the accolades of the institution. Some of them included, 5 patents filed in the year 2016, product development like touch screen, go-carting, prototype for clean toilets etc. Prof. Asha also shared information about Entrepreneurship Development Cell, national and international collaboration, clubs, Tomorrow’s Engineers workshop. The laurels were followed by an enriching address from Mr. Alok Nanda.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Nanda expressed his nostalgia for his college days and was delighted to see great response for the Alumni meet 2016. He continually advised the Alumni and students to keep learning and updating themselves as it is an era of disruption. He also emphasized on taking initiatives and being empathetic towards people and technology.

The occasion witnessed the information sharing of Tomorrow’s Engineers Workshop and hence the Tomorrow’s Engineers Club was launched.

The Alumni shared their experience in the meet which was a remembrance of the college days that shaped their lives. Sharing experience with the audience Subhadeep Paul, Aeronautical Engineer, Tech Mahindra said that “It’s not money that makes you rich but the things we carry that money can’t buy”. He shared college day’s pleasantries and thanked the alma mater for making him what he is today. Sharing experience with the audience Mr. Tanmay, Project Manager, Microland appreciated the professors for the support and guidance extended throughout his tenure in the college.

Alumni Speak Session was followed by felicitation of chief guest Mr. Alok Nanda by Prof. Thyagarajan, as a mark of reverence.

The formal procedure concluded with Vote of Thanks by Prof. Gowrishankar and National Anthem as a mark of reverence and gratitude towards the nation.
