BANGALORE CO-OPERATIVE MILK PRODUCERS SOCIETIES UNION LTD. – BAMUL

The Industrial Visit for the third semester MBA students was organized by MVJCE, on 25^th September 2019. 38 students, along with 2 faculty members, visited BAMUL (Bangalore Co-Operative Milk Producers Societies Union Ltd.). The aim of the visit was to enhance the practical knowledge of the students in organizational structure, operational procedures, safety standards and logistics.

Objective:

The objective of an Industrial Visit is to provide an insight into the internal working of a company. Exposure visit is a tool that is used to facilitate learning; it entails two or more parties, where one is learning from the other. It promotes issues of good practices and a process of building on underlying policies and procedures.

Group Observation and Learning:

The visit was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Dr. Geetha Sineni and Asst. Prof. Ms. Divya P, Department of Management Studies, MVJCE. The students left the MVJCE campus at 08:50 am and reached BAMUL by 11:00 am. BAMUL (Bangalore Milk Union Limited) is one of the unions under Karnataka Cooperative Milk Producer Federations Limited (KMF). It provides hygienic and good quality milk, curd, butter, ghee to consumers. Its primary objective is to build the economic condition of the milk vendors in villages.

BAMUL’s famous product Nandini covers 89% of market share of milk. It supplies toned milk containing 3.0% fat & 8.5% SNF, and Full cream Milk containing 6% fat & 9% SNF. Good Life milk is UHT processed, and available in tetra packs. BAMUL also supplies Nandini Ghee, Curd, Butter, Sweets, Paneer etc. BAMUL takes pride in supplying butter to the Indian Armed Forces. Nandini is the only brand which doesn’t use any preservatives in its production and packing.

The Visit enlightened the students on the aspects of procuring, pasteurizing, preserving, packing and distribution of milk and milk products.

The Industrial Visit to BAMUL offered students an opportunity to explore the technical aspects of dairy Production and Marketing. This Industrial Visit complemented theoretical knowledge with practical experience and exposure.
