The Department of Management Studies organized a Club activity event titled ‘Best Manager’, on 26th March 2019, at Smt. Rajalakshmi Seminar Hall. The session started at 8:30 am and ended at 3:30 pm, and 87 students from 1st and 2nd year MBA participated in the program.
The Best Manager event was organized with the aim to develop and inculcate the skills of leadership, team management and communication. It was meant to propel the students to present themselves in the best possible way and utilize available resources, effectively.
This event was conducted for providing hands-on experience to students, on how to organize an event and play an active role in it. The event started with a welcome speech by Ms. Affifa Sadiya (MBA 2nd Semester), followed by some inspiring words from our Principal.
The Best Manager event had four rounds. The first round was an aptitude test, where the participants had to take a general test of 30 questions, within 30 minutes.
The top 40 students from this round were selected for the 2nd round. Here, the participants were divided into 8 teams with 5 members in each team, and they had to guess the correct logo, brand name and tag lines of companies.
The top 4 teams with the highest scores were selected for the 3rd round, where the teams had a face-off, and had to guess the advertisements and complete the tag lines of well-known companies.
The best 2 team (10 students) were selected for the final round. It was a rapid-fire round, where the participants had to pick up a chit and talk on the topic given. The judges would pose questions and see their ability, relevance and confidence level.
The Title Best Manager and the First place, was a tie between Rathan Gabriel and Riyana from 1st MBA. The Runner-up was Bhavani from 2nd MBA.
The event was a great success, thanks to the facilitators and coordinators. The main aim of organizing this event was to develop team spirit and confidence among the students, so that they are well prepared to handle any task given to them. The session ended with a motivational talk by the Principal.
