CLUB ACTIVITY – “CHEM LIFE” – MODEL MAKING ON ELECTROCHEMICAL CELL

The Department of Chemistry organized a Club Activity ‘CHEM LIFE’, on 30^th April 2019, at R & D Lab, Chemistry Department. The event started at 10 am and ended at 12:45 pm and was attended by 4 students of the Chemistry Department.

Round I: Power Point Presentation

This round had Power Point presentation from each group, where they had to explain about their model idea and application. 2 teams participated in the round which was for 30 minutes. At the end of the Round I, all the teams were selected for Round II.

Round II: Model Making

2 teams participated in this round. The team members started making Electrochemical cells, according to the specifications. It was completed by 12 pm.

Round III: Presentation of Working Model

The team members demonstrated their models to the jury, HOD and faculty members, and the jury members adjudged the models. Certificates were issued to all the participants, and a Cash Prize was given to the winning team. The event wound up by 12:45 pm.

The event was very interesting, interactive and beneficial. A good deal of innovative thinking went into the models, with the students pitching in new ideas, and actively taking part in the Club activity.

Outcome of the Event:
The participants understood the roles and responsibilities of aspiring Engineers, in solving issues related to Chemical Cells (Battery problems). They came up with new ideas of protecting the environment and proved how monitoring and protection of the environment can be done with upcoming technologies in the electro chemical field.
