The Department of Mathematics, organized club activity entitled “MATHEMATICAL MODELLING” on 22nd September 2018 at Seminar Hall-4, MVJ College of Engineering, Bangalore-67.

The event was started with an invocation song and the master of ceremony was given by the First year student coordinators. Ms. Sampoorna V, HOD, Department of Mathematics gave a talk about the Mathematics Department club MATLITE.

Students were prepared their models (which is having applications of Mathematics) and explained about their models on the event day. Students are participated as a group of two as well as individuals.  The first and second prizes awarded among these groups by evaluation panel based on their presentation skills, formulation of the problem and innovative applications.  

Winners :

Team – 08 (Ms. Leena Prakash/I Sem/CSE Branch/ individual participant) got the first prize. Team – 02 (Ms. Manasa and Ms. Srilakshmi/I Sem/ECE Branch ) got the second prize.

Outcome of the Event:

1. Students could understand the applications of Mathematics.
2. Students got to know the applications of Trigonometry, Golden ratio, Four color theorem and Hyperbolic paraboloid.
3. It was a platform to share their innovative ideas.
