Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Inter- Collegiate Cricket Tournament - 2023
The inaugural function of the 18th Year Celebration of Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Inter-Collegiate Cricket Tournament was organized on 20th November 2023, at Smt. Rajalakshmi Jayaraman Seminar Hall, MVJCE. This 6-day cricket tournament was inaugurated by Ms. Sharda Ugra, Sports Journalist, in the presence of Dr. V Suresh Babu, Principal, MVJCE, Dr. Brindha M, Vice Principal, MVJCE, Dr. Shrinivas L Gombi, Dean Academics, MVJCE, Dr. A C Niranjanappa, Dean Research, MVJCE and Mr. Hari Hegde, Public Relations Officer, MVJCE.
This year, over 16 teams from various colleges and universities registered to take part in this prestigious 18th Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Inter-Collegiate Cricket tournament. The event commenced with an Invocation Song and Lighting of the Lamp, followed by the Chief Guest address by Ms. Sharda Ugra.
Ms. Sharda Ugra, Sports Journalist, emphasized that it is important to balance academics with extra-curricular activities like sports, as it provides students with a holistic development. She also shared her own experience with students and enlightened them on how she was able to manage her education along with her sports career. Her speech was a great motivation to all upcoming sports enthusiastic Engineers.
The 6-day Cricket Tournament kickstarted on 20th November 2023, and will continue till 28th November 2023, at H R Sports Cricket Ground.
