Founder’s Day – 2018

Every Year, MVJ College of Engineering celebrates the Founder’s Day on 17th May.

This year, MVJ College of Engineering celebrated the Founder’s Day on 17.05.18 (Thursday) in the college auditorium at 11:30 a.m to mark the 91st Birth Anniversary of Dr. M. V.JAYARAMAN- Founder, Mentor of MVJ Group of Institutions.

Ms. P. Sinchana, a student from Department of EEE performed the inaugural dance.    Ms. Srijana Chettri, Asst. professor-MBA, welcomed the audience and stated the purpose of the Founder’s Day. She narrated that how the Founder Chairman led from front on educating the masses with the quality.

A humble tribute in the form of a video was played that enabled the audience to reminisce the days and glorious past of Dr. M. V. Jayaraman. The Dignitaries comprising of Dr. Prahlada Ramarao, Chief Guest,  Shri B. Subbayya Shetty, Guest of Honour and  Dr. M. J. Mohan, Chairman, MVJ Medical College, Secretary and Correspondent of Venkatesha Education Society  together with Dr. N. Gunasekaran, Principal  adorned the Dias. Dr. N. Gunasekaran, Principal welcomed the Dignitaries with bouquets. Next, they lid the lamp to mark the symbol of light which removes the darkness.

After the lighting of the lamp, Dr N. Gunasekaran, Principal-MVJCE briefed the audience on the significance of the function. He stated that MVJCE follows the path laid down by the Founder and echo the values that he preached and practised. Today, MVJCE is one among the best Institutions that he incepted and it provides opportunities for thousands of students to get educated and to lead a wonderful career. He mentioned that the students and staff members are recognized on his birth anniversary for the kind of achievements and distinctions made by them.

Ms. Maanvi, a First Year BE CSE student then took the audience through the blissful journey of  Dr. M. V. Jayaraman which inspired all to work towards ones dreams so as to convert it to a reality.

Ms. Shravani, a First Year BE CSE student introduced Shri B. Subbayya Shetty, the Guest of Honour who then shared his experience by telling how closely he was associated with the Founder Dr. M. V. Jayaraman. He also informed the audience about how Dr. Jayaraman had been a down-to-earth, kind-hearted and generous person. He told the audience that Dr. Jayaraman had brought up his kids with discipline and that he never missed going to his office even on Sundays. Shri B. Subbayya Shetty had been a legal advisor to the Founder and thereby they shared a good camaraderie as was evident from his speech.

After that, Mr. Sairus, a First Year BE Mechanical Engineering student introduced  Dr. Prahlada Ramarao, the Chief Guest of the Founder’s day celebrations. Dr. Prahlada Ramarao addressed the gathering and shared his life experiences. He captured the attention of the audience through his sense of humour while he focussed on what constitutes the student development. The students have thoroughly enjoyed his address which cannot be easily forgotten. He narrated that what the generations of his time have missed and what they have gained while what the current generation of students have gained. He also stated that how Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, former President of India helped and motivated him to take up the assignments and be successful in the career. He reiterated that the Teachers only identify the talent of a student and make the students to choose right career. He requested the faculty members to enable the students to find themselves and enjoy the education. After Dr. Prahlada Ramarao shared his pearls of wisdom, the award ceremony commenced.

The rightly-deserved students were awarded with certificates and cash awards under the following categories.

  • VTU Rank holders,
  • Passed out student toppers
  • “Vinay Deepak Memorial” Award, which is a special award instituted in memory of the 1st semester Mechanical student Mr. Vinay Deepak who left for the heavenly abode owing to a train accident. This award is given every year to the toppers from Mechanical Engineering
  • Current toppers of MVJCE
  • Students with 100% marks in VTU examination
  • Students who had published papers in journals of repute
  • MVJ Polytechnic passed out toppers
  • Current toppers from MVJ Polytechnic
  • Student who obtained 100% marks in Board of Technical Education
  • Faculty members who worked relentlessly and obtained 100% result
  • Faculty members who had published papers in journals of national and international repute, and
  • Faculty member who had got sponsored project worth 20 lakhs from VGST scheme of KFIST

 

Mrs. Arpita Gupta, Asst. Professor-MBA, delivered the vote of thanks to all who have made the Founders day a grand success.

The program then ended with a National Anthem which was led by Ms. Maanvi, Ms. Shravani and Mr. Sairus.
