MVJ College of Engineering was established in 1982 as the flagship institution of Venkatesha Education Society, to impart education in Engineering, Management, and beyond. The 15-acre campus of MVJCE in Whitefield, Bangalore, boasts of state-of-the- art infrastructure that creates an environment that is conducive to progressive learning and development. About Department of CSE & ISE

The Department of Computer science and Engineering was started in the year 1985. CSE department is affiliated to VTU, Approved by AICTE and Accredited by NBA.  Department has full time UG program in Computer Science and Engineering and PG program in Computer Science and Engineering. Department conducts regular interactive workshops, seminars, conferences, intra collegiate competitions for technical skill enhancements and many other programs. The department has well experienced and highly qualified faculty members, who have specialized in the latest areas of in Computer science and Engineering, which includes, Cloud computing, Big data, Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Learning, Under water communication, Semantic learning, Image Processing, Wireless Network Security, Computer Networks, and so on.

The Department of Information Science & Engineering was started in the year 1999.  The Information Science & Engineering Department at MVJCE endeavors to provide high quality technical education, research and innovation, for students and faculty to meet the ever-growing needs of industry and society. The Department emphasizes on quality and high standards and provides an all-round personality development with responsibility. Through its strong industry links, ties to professional bodies, and state-of the-art laboratory facilities, the Department of Information Science & Engineering truly stands tall. About the Conference

The two-days international conference is set to provide a forum for researchers and industrialists to share recent research results on the convergence of Computing, Automation and Intelligent Information Systems. It provides an international forum for the dissemination of original research results, new ideas and practical development experiences which concentrates on current trends in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. The key intention of the conference is to provide opportunity for the global participants to share their ideas, experience in person with their peers expected to join from different parts of the world. ICAIIS-2020 will continue to feature research papers with a wide range of topics, focusing on various aspects of advanced computing and big data analytics. The conference is meant to discuss the state-of-the-art developments, challenges and unsolved open problems in the field of advanced computing and big data analytics.

Profile of the Keynote Speaker

Joy Iong-Zong Chen was born in Taiwan, and received his B.Sc. degrees in electronics engineering from the National Taiwan Technical University, Taipei, Taiwan, and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering from the Da-Yeh University, Chung-hua, Taiwan, in 1985 and 1995, respectively, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from National Defense University, Tao-Yuan, Taiwan, in 2001. He was a Lecturer with Department of Electrical Engineering Da-Yeh University at Chang-Hua Taiwan, an associated professor, and then a full significant professor currently. Prior to joining the Da-Yeh University, he worked at the Control Data Company (Taiwan branch) as a technical manager since Sep. 1985 to Sep. 1996. His general research interests include AI, IoT Development, Wireless Communications, Spread Spectrum Technical, OFDM Systems, and Wireless Sensor Networks. In these areas, Dr. Chen has published about 50 international Journal papers form scholar till now, and ever acts as Guest Editor for several famous international Journals. His publications have been cited a lot of times. He has been involved in the editorial activities for technical journals, including as the founding Editor-in-Chief of IRO Journal on Sustainable Wireless Systems.

“A Smart Robot Embedded with Machine Learning and GMM-UBM Mechanisms”


In the article a smart robot embedded with machine learning and GMM-UBM (Gaussian mixture model-universal background model) mechanisms is proposed. Authors designed a smart robot, for example, applied to the agriculture aspects and to control smart robot system, by the concept of machine learning. The applications of machine learning are adopted to help the operators in analyzing the environment conditions, e.g. weather, and disease protection in rice or plant. The smart robot is designed to detect and to check the environment’s conditions around a fixed area. The sensing ways are deployed through vision devices, such as camera, look like a human’s eye to distinguish various types of target. Moreover, QR code helps to simulate working conditions allows robots to separate conditions and acts according to conditions precisely. Besides, the smart robot is embedded with the GMM-UBM which is for operation to judge the precise activities for working around the specified applications. The proposed smart robot with AI (Artificial intelligence) techniques is consists of the following subsystems: (1). A subsystem to control movement, (2). A sensor control subsystem, and (3). A data analysis subsystem. The experiment executed by the smart robot has determined the condition of the message options via some QR tags. Accordingly, there is some briefly introduction described below. Firstly, the robot is going to start off and finishing the steps by reading the QR pre-assigned tag, which will process as a text message and saved into memory device. The data analysis subsystem then reads the text immediately and recommends the robot move to the next station according to the specified conditions. The result of using QR code allows the smart robot to accurately collect every kinds of prefer data (for example, climate data) in the farm area at the specified location. Finally, evaluation to the performance in energy wasting and the movement precision of the smart robot are compared to other existed work for contribution reason.
