The Department of Information Science & Engineering, MVJCE, organized an Industrial Visit on 6^th August 2019, for the 5^th semester students from ISE, to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Knowledge Park, Byppanahalli, Bengaluru.

The students, along with the faculty members Prof. Shilpa S and Prof. Priya K, started at 12:45 pm from the college in the college bus, and reached the Centre at 1:30 pm.

First, the students and faculty members were briefed about super computers and the series of supercomputers designed and assembled by the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing. The configuration and working of their latest machine PARAM Padma, were the prime topics of discussion. PARAM is a series of supercomputers designed and assembled by the C-DAC. The supercomputers designed by C-DAC are PARAM 8000, PARAM 9900, PARAM 1000, PARAM YUVA and PARAM YUVA II. The latest machine in the series is the PARAM Padma.

After getting some interesting inputs on these supercomputers, the students and faculty members exited the C-DAC organization towards college, at around 3:00 pm.

Outcome of the event:

The visit to the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) Research Centre was a learning and knowledge-gaining experience, as the students got an opportunity to know more about the supercomputer PARAM Padma, and the various technical aspects of that server and its current applications.
