Skill Development Programme – Infosys Foundations 5.0

Campus Connect (CC) is an Infosys industry-academia partnership program aimed at enhancing the IT talent in college campuses. MVJ College of Engineering joined with Infosys as a partner college by entering into an MOU on January 25, 2011, for enriching technical education. The program was started with the aim of evolving a model association with engineering colleges, to build a vibrant talent pool, which will be IT-industry ready.

The core of the CC program is the Foundation Program (FP), which will be conducted for pre-final year students of both IT and non-IT streams. It will help entry-level engineers from heterogeneous backgrounds and disciplines, to deliver world-class projects to global customers. The purpose of the FP courseware is to provide a unique set of teaching aids and consolidated training material to the college faculty, to help them make students industry-ready.

This academic year, the Foundation Program 5.0 is being rolled out, which is aimed at imparting the necessary knowledge and skills to a fresh entrant, to take up the challenges of a project work.

  • Module 1: Programming Fundamentals
  • Module 2: Database Fundamentals
  • Module 3: Python DB Integration
  • Module 4: Object-Oriented Programming using Python
  • Module 5: Advanced Database Concepts

The classes were conducted by the above-mentioned faculty, starting from10/9/2018, every week, till the end of the semester. The training will continue during the next semester, followed by assessment and project development.

Outcome of the event:

  • Imparting the knowledge and skills that are necessary for a student to take up the challenges of a project work.
  • To build a vibrant talent pool, which is IT industry-ready.
  • The projects that are included in the program will help to make the education system  practice-oriented.
