The Department of Electrical and Eelectronics Engineering organized a Short Term Training Program (STTP) on the topic ‘Application of Soft Computing Techniques in Electrical Engineering’. The Program was organized during 28.12.2021 to 30.12.2021, at Auditorium. The event started at 10.00am and concluded at 04.30 pm. The 3rd, 5th and 7th semester students and the faculty of EEE department attended the program. The Guest Lecture was presided by Dr. P Mahaballeshwarapa, Principal, MVJCE and Dr. Soumya Mishra, HOD, EEE, MVJCE.
Day 01: 28.12.2021
The event started at 11.30am with welcome speech and guest introduction followed by Principal addressing the gathering. Dr.Ravishankar.C.V took over the first session of day 1 and delivered a detailed information of Soft Computing, its evolution, the need of its adoption, advantages and disadvantages.
The second session was taken by Dr.G.Hemakumar Reddy. He has given a hands on training in MATLAB application with detailed coding for making of various controllers using MATLAB.
Day 02: 29.12.2021
The event started at 10.30am followed by welcome speech and guest introduction. Dr.S.G.Srivani took over the first session of day 2 and delivered a detailed introduction about fuzzy systems with different algorithms. In second session she have given brief lecture on “Applications of Fuzzy Logic in Power Electronic and Power system” and a hands on training in MATLAB was given and detailed about designing of fuzzy systems using MATLAB.
Day 03: 30.12.2021
The event started at 10.30am followed by welcome speech and guest introduction. Dr.M.Premkumar handled both sessions of day 3 and delivered a brief lecture about the modern optimization techniques used in electrical power system modeling using MATLAB.
OUTCOME OF THE GUEST LECTURE:
The students were enriched their skills in most recent, on a broad range of topics in the area of soft computing techniques such as Artificial Neural Networks, Fuzzy Logic, Evolutionary computational algorithms and various optimization techniques using MATLAB in accordance with electrical engineering applications.
