The Department of Mechanical Engineering has organised a Seminar on “Significance of Stress Analysis for Mechanical Engineers”, on 19/11/2022, at Seminar Hall 6, from 10:00am to 12.30pm. Dr. Shashidhar S, Principal Engineer and subject Matter Expert, Collins Aerospace Ltd was the expert speaker. The seminar was organized at the Department level for prefinal and final year students of Mechanical Engineering with a strength of 140 students.
The program was inaugurated by Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa, Principal MVJCE, Dr. M Brindha, Vice-principal MVJCE, Dr. M A Lourdu Antony Raj, COE MVJCE, and Dr. Vivekananda Huddar HOD Mechanical Engineering Department, MVJCE.
The inauguration followed by welcome speech by Dr. Vivekananda Huddar, HOD Mechanical Engineering Department, MVJCE addressing the requirement of such programs to students to equip and nurture them to bridge the gap between the industry-academia
The seminar was delivered by Dr Shashidhar S, through a brief introduction about the prominence of mechanical engineering subjects like, Mechanics of Materials, Kinematics of Machines, Dynamics of Machines, Design of Machine Elements I & II, Finite Element Analysis, Mechanical Vibration, Using Advanced Structural Analysis the seminar delves deep into Finite Element Analysis (FEA), about the performance of simulations and read the results, using the industrial problem related to aircraft wings. The audience gained skills on ANSYS Workbench – industry-leading software for performing structural, thermal, and vibrational analysis. The workshop included technical power point presentation and a few videos to highlight the importance of analysis and simulation using ANSYS workbench.
The seminar created an opportunity for students to understand the need for stress analysis tool in line with industry perspective.
By attending the seminar, the Mechanical Engineering students of prefinal and final year understood how to
