ACHIVEMENTS
Mechanical Department involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power through Design, Production and operation of engines, machines, mechanisms and tools. The curriculum helps students to delve into the core areas of their specialization in planned progression. Students begin with material science and metallurgy covering all the areas, ably supported by the labs like CAMD, CIM and automation, Computer Aided engineering Drawing, Design lab, Energy Conversion, Fluid Mechanics, Foundry and Forging, Heat and Mass transfer, Machine shop and Material testing lab. Manufacturing processes –I and II introduce them to work in with materials and understanding the concepts in practice. Workplace practices are addressed through Management and Entrepreneurship in the third year and students develop their grounding in various types of machines and study energy plans and systems. Manufacturing Process III focusses on a detailed study of metal forming processes. As they gear up for their projects in the fourth year, students study mechanical vibrations, hydraulics and pneumatics, rapid prototyping and work extensively in design labs.
