Principal’s Message

Dear Parents and Students

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to MVJ College of Engineering, Bangalore. Our college has been nurtured and blessed by our founder Late Sri. M. V. Jayaraman. Founded in 1982, the Institute has been contributing to professional education and human resource development, with the primary goal of becoming one of the most prominent and excellent educational Institutions in the world.

Our campus has a beautiful landscape with an eco-friendly environment, and is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure. At MVJCE, we have well-equipped labs, canteen, workshops and libraries,to help students attain highest standards in academics, research and professional skills. We encourage a three-way partnership between students, parents and the institution, to enhance the analytical, communications, entrepreneurial and interpersonal skills of students. The college provides students with ample opportunities in Sports, Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities, to enable them to hone their talents. The technical clubs challenge the young minds to think innovatively.

As the Principal of MVJCE, I am privileged to work with dedicated and passionate team of educators. Our faculty encourages industry-institute interaction through guest lectures and industrial visits. The emphasis at MVJCE is on Outcome Based Education (OBE) and Experiment based learning. This helps the students to work on inter-disciplinary domain, leading to product development, online certification courses, consultancy work, and funded research projects.

A brief Introduction about your Principal:
I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Bhopal University in 1986, Master’s degree in Hydraulics from NIE Mysore (Mysore University) and completed my Doctorate from Indian Institute of Science (IISc, Bangalore) in 1997. I began my career as a Trainee Engineer in GECON Indore (MP). Over the past 28years, I have worked as Senior Research Engineer at FCRI Palakkad and in the Head Inland Water Transport Division at NATPAC Trivandrum. As a teacher, I have served atMACT (Now MANIT) Bhopal, SSGMCE Shegaon, AKCE Srivilliputtur, Jain University, DSCE, AIEMS, SJBIT Bangalore as Professor, Head of the Department and Principal.

I am a recipient of the UNICEF Best Paper award. I have completed 27 sponsored research projects, and guided several PhD scholars. I am a Life Member of 4professional bodies (ISTE, ICI, IEI and ISH), and have published around 90research papers in reputed journals (ASCE, IAHR, ISH, CBIP), besides applying for one patent.I have participated in a number of conferences.
