Computer Science and Design Engineering (CSD) encompasses a variety of topics relating to Programming languages, Analysis of algorithms, Data structures, Mobile Application Development, Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence. With the technology in these fields developing rapidly, the CSD Curriculum at MVJCE lays strong emphasis not only on the fundamentals, but also on analysing the latest technology in order to develop the creativity of students.
The CSD Curriculum has been framed, based on NEP guidelines, with focus on Multidisciplinary education. All the recommendations of NEP have been carefully considered while framing the syllabus, taking inputs from experts in Academia and Industry. Aligning with the NEP, the students are offered the flexibility to select courses, through a Choice Based Credit system.
Ability Enhancement Courses are offered from the First year onwards. Students must select one of the 11 verticals/clubs available at the college - this will hone their innovative thinking and creativity. From the 3rd semester, courses like Unix shell Programming, C sharp and.NET framework, Research Methodology and IPR, Angular JS, Node JS are offered as Ability Enhancement Courses.
A Major in CSD Engineering also offers the provision to get an Honours Degree, or a Minor degree in AI, Computer Graphics, IoT etc., by earning extra 18 credits. This is in line with the NEP.
The CSD Department offers IPCC courses like Data Structures, Analog and Digital Electronics, Python Programming, Analysis and Design of Algorithms, Database Management Systems, Data Communications and Computer Networks , Web Development, Machine Learning and IOT, paving the way for Multidisciplinary education, as suggested by NEP.
The CSD Curriculum includes Elective subjects like Cyber Forensics and IPR, Compiler Design, Cloud Computing, Agile Technologies, Cognitive Science, Game Design and Development, 3D Animation and so on. Courses like OOPs with Java Programming, Python Programming, SQL, Web technologies, Mobile application development, Agile Technologies are also taught, which will help students with their projects. Internships and plenty of Project work on societal problems are also included, as part of the Curriculum. Students are encouraged to do Certification Courses like those offered by NPTEL, Swayam, Coursera, Infosys Springboard and NASSCOM.
The aim of our Curriculum is to provide both theoretical and practical hands-on training to students, so that they can emerge not only as skilled professionals but also as Engineers with ethical and constitutional values, intellectual curiosity and a scientific temper – everything that NEP expects from the future citizens of India.
