Eligibility

Requirements for joining B.E Program in Data Science Engineering

If you are the ambitious kind and have this burning desire to be a change-maker, then Data Science Engineering is just the course for you. Besides this, all Indian students applying for the B.E Data Science Engineering program must fulfill the following requirements:

a). CET Quota Students:

• Must have passed the Second Year of Pre-university or 12^th standard or equivalent, with English as one of the subjects.
• Must have secured an aggregate of at least 45% in Math and Physics, along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science.
• Must have cleared KCET.

b). Management Quota Direct Admission students:

• Must have passed the Second Year of Pre-university or 12^th standard or equivalent, with English as one of the subjects, and obtained an aggregate of at least 60% in Math and Physics, along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science.
• Must have cleared any of the following entrance examinations: KCET, COMEDK, UGET, AMPCK, AIEEE.

c). Students in the SC/ST and CAT1, 2A, 2B, 3A and 3B categories:

• Must have secured a minimum aggregate of 40% in the qualifying examination.
• Must have cleared KCET

d). International/NRI students:

• Must have passed an exam equivalent to the Second Year of Pre-university or 12^th standard, with English as one of the subjects, and obtained an aggregate of at least 60% in Math and Physics, along with Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / Electronics / Computer Science.
• Must clear the interview and written test that will be conducted by the College, as mandated by the University.
• International / NRI students are requested to directly contact the Admission Cell at the college campus and obtain the Application Form.

Note: A student who has passed the qualifying exam (PUC, 12^th standard) from a recognized Board other than those mentioned by VTU, must obtain an Equivalence Certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (New Delhi). This certificate is mandatory for admission in the College.

e). B.E Lateral Entry: CET Admission Process

• Must have passed the Diploma or equivalent examination as recognized by the University, and secured not less than 45% marks in the final year examination (fifth and sixth semesters), in the relevant branch of Engineering. In the case of SC/ST and OBC students from Karnataka, the minimum mark for eligibility shall be 40%.
• Must have cleared the Entrance Test conducted by the Govt. of Karnataka (DCET – Diploma Karnataka Common Entrance Test)
