DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE AND ENGINEERING
The Curriculum of the Post Graduate program in Computer Science and Engineering has been framed to meet the NEP (National Education Policy) requirements, by focusing on a holistic approach in the teaching-learning process and flexibility in the selection of professional and open elective courses. It has been meticulously designed, with inputs from experts from Industry and Academia.
The course structure has 80 Credits, with 22 in the Odd semester and 18 in the Even semester. Courses relating to Skill and Career advancements have been added in the program, in keeping with the recommendations of NEP. Professional Courses on Internet of Things and Big Data Analytics have been integrated with skill-based laboratories. Ability Enhancement Courses (AEC) in the field of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, under online platforms like NPTEL, SWAYAM and other MOOCs, have been incorporated in the Curriculum in the First year of studies, to enhance the professional skill of students.
Professional Electives covering different fields of Computer Science and Engineering like Wireless networks and Mobile computing, Natural Language Processing, Cyber security and Cyber law, Digital Image Processing, Agile Technologies and Object-oriented design are introduced in the 2nd and 3rd semesters. The diverse range of these courses fits perfectly into the NEP directives on Multidisciplinary education.
Mathematics course stream, Research methodology and IPR have been included in the Curriculum to improve the computation skills and research perspective of students, so that they can approach societal challenges, effectively. Apart from the courses mentioned above, the Curriculum packs in Internships, Mini-Projects, Seminars, Online Certification courses and plenty of Project work on societal issues to help prepare the students for their career ahead.
NEP has been formulated by the Government of India to implement a sea change in the education of youngsters, with a vision to produce future citizens who are well-rounded, creative individuals, with intellectual curiosity, scientific temper and social consciousness. The Post Graduate program in Computer Science and Engineering at MVJCE aims to fulfil this vision through a carefully designed Curriculum which not only provides the knowledge and skillsets that future engineers require, but also grooms them into well-rounded people.
