Award Ceremony for University Rank Holders 2016

MVJ College of Engineering had organized an award ceremony for university rank holders to felicitate their hard work and dedication on Aug 20^th, 2016. The program commenced with a welcome note from Ms. Hida Prem, followed by a melodious and devotional invocation song. As a mark of triumph over darkness, Dr. B N Suresh, chief guest, Prof Thyagarajan, Director – Research and Development, Prof. M. Brindha, Vice Principal lighted the lamp for an auspicious beginning. Formal address was delivered with a warm welcome to the Dr. B. N Suresh, Chief Guest, Mr. M.J. Balachander, Chairman, MVJ College of Engineering, Prof Thyagarajan Director – Research and Development, Prof. M. Brindha, Vice Principal, head of the departments, faculties, parents, students and the achievers. The hard work, dedication, persistence and focus put forth by the students to achieve the ranks in the university was applauded. The effort put forth by the Head of the Departments, faculties in molding talent of the students was much appreciated.

The Formal address was followed by the introduction of Dr. B. N Suresh, Chief Guest of the Ceremony. Dr. B N Suresh is a stalwart in the field of aerospace engineering and has been associated with ISRO for more than four decades in pivotal capacity. He was the Director of Vikram Sarabhai Space center. There are innumerable awards and an accolade to his credit.He is the recipient of some of the prestigious civilian honors like Padmashree and Padma Bhushan. He is also the chairman of governing council, MVJ College of Engineering. The introduction of Dr B N Suresh was followed by his address. He extended a warm welcome towards the gathering and assured the students especially first year students, that the journey of engineering course will be exciting as they would be enabled to transform ideas into devices. Dr B. N Suresh emphasized on learning, effective utilization of time, development of novel ideas, innovation, research, interdisciplinary approach to stay productive. He concluded the address by inspiring words of Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam “If you want to leave your footprints on the sands of time do not drag your feet.”

The address was followed by the award distribution ceremony for university rank holders of Undergraduate and post graduate courses across all streams. The undergraduate rank holder were awarded with cash prize of Rs.100000 and post graduate rank holders were awarded with Rs. 50000. The atmosphere was filled with continuous applauds.

The ceremony was concluded with a humble vote of thanks.
