A Guest lecture on 'Linux Programming' was organized by CSE Department on 27th May, 2022, from 10 am to 1.00 pm. Dr. A Syed Mustafa, Professor and HOD, Department of ISE, HKBK college of Engineering, Bangalore was the guest speaker. The welcome note was given by our student Ms. Meghana, II year, Department of AI&ML, MVJCE. The program was presided over by Dr. P Mahabaleswarappa (Principal, MVJCE), Dr. M Brindha (Vice Principal, MVJCE), Dr. Lourdu Antony Raj (COE), Prof. Kumar (Registrar) and Prof. Tamilarasi (HOD/CSE)

The guest lecture was organized for II year CSE and AI&ML students. The event aimed to give the student an idea about the basics of Linux programming, including server side applications and kernal. The aim of the event was to expose the students to the various aspects related to Linux and how Linux plays a vital role in the world today

The objective of this event was to give basic ideas about Linux Programming to the students. Linux is an open-source platform. This implies the source code is freely available for modifications and study. In this situation, there's a wide window of opportunity in terms of what the Linux professionals can achieve using Linux. In today's world, open-source software has immense value for the possibilities they have. Likewise, Linux offers immense freedom when it comes to creating and/or manipulating applications. Linux, however, integrates well with all pieces of technology, even that ragged old personal computer we use two decades ago. When it comes to putting technology in use, Linux is the way to go.

The resource person discussed the features and advantages of Linux. He explained the types of Linux programming. Students were more interested when basic operations and methods were explained in Linux. The resource person explained coding sand also explained a sample program after explaining the students how Linux can be installed. The concept of 8ash programming was highlighted more in his lecture. He narrated the syntax of writing a program. He also explained the advantages of Linux and how secure it is.

The resource person explained how a Linux program should be written and how the program should be executed in live mode. After attending the session, the students are able to analyze, design, and enhance their knowledge in basics of Linux programming. It was also helpful for the students to have a sound knowledge in cracking technical rounds with ease of knowledge in Linux. With Linux's dominance in the server space, that security is also crucial for the security of the Web. As such, the secure development of Linux is of major importance to the modern world of tech, as most web technology stands on the shoulders of reliable and secure servers.

Linux is the present and foreseeable future in servers. Future is Linux which students learned through this Guest lecture and this event helped a lot in enhancing their knowledge in Linux. Outcome of the Event

Participants gained insight on Linux programming and its importance. The students gained knowledge in basics of Linux. The knowledge is essential for understanding the Linux programming sand how to write programs in Linux..

Overall, it was a very informative session.
