Foundational Concepts:AI and Machine Learning (ML) are fundamental components of the department’s curriculum, covering topics like machine learning algorithms, deep learning, natural language processing, and computer vision.
Research and Development: The department focuses on advancing AI and ML research, exploring applications in areas like robotics, healthcare, finance, and transportation.
Practical Applications:Students learn to design, develop, and deploy AI-powered systems, leveraging ML techniques to solve real-world problems.
Interdisciplinary Approach:AI and ML are integrated with other engineering disciplines, such as computer science, electrical engineering, and data science, to tackle complex challenges.
Graduates in AI and ML find ample job opportunities. The demand for AI specialists exceeds the supply, making it a lucrative field with broad applicability across industries.
The curriculum is revamped by considering the recommendations of NEP 2020, AICTE, and UGC. Courses in emerging technologies, multidisciplinary courses have been included in the curriculum to make it industry-relevant and application-oriented. More emphasis is on experiential learning to avoid rote learning.
‘Honours’ would be an add-on degree for a student. From the fifth semester onwards, students have to take up 18 additional credit courses, and at the end of the term, the student will be eligible for both B.E. in the respective branch, along with B.E. Honours.
Students can also pursue a B.E. Programme with a Major in one specialisation and a minor in another specialisation.
