Growth in AI investment has been steady since 2012, reaching $42 billion in 2020

B.E. Artificial Intelligence
and Machine Learning (AI & ML)

About this Programme
  • Artificial intelligence is the process of simulating human intelligence by machines, especially computer systems. It has made science fiction come alive, and robot-like characteristics are possible using artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms.
  • Their influence spans gaming consoles, smartphones, drones, self-driving cars, security cameras, diagnostic tools in healthcare, and virtual assistants like Alexa and Siri.
  • AI is crucial in warehouse management, supply-chain logistics, e-commerce, biometric systems, and numerous other industries.
  • Notably, AI operates in the background of smartphones, analysing user behaviour and preferences to offer personalised suggestions
  • The impact of AI and ML is profound, shaping experiences and interactions in countless ways.

Curriculum

Comprehensive Curriculum

The curriculum is revamped by considering the recommendations of NEP 2020, AICTE, and UGC. Courses in emerging technologies, multidisciplinary courses have been included in the curriculum to make it industry-relevant and application-oriented. More emphasis is on experiential learning to avoid rote learning.

‘Honours’ would be an add-on degree for a student. From the fifth semester onwards, students have to take up 18 additional credit courses, and at the end of the term, the student will be eligible for both B.E. in the respective branch, along with B.E. Honours.

Students can also pursue a B.E. Programme with a Major in one specialisation and a minor in another specialisation.
