Guest Lecture on ‘Environmental Pollution and Mitigation’

A Guest Lecture on Environmental Pollution and Mitigation was organized by the Department of Chemical Engineering, MVJCE on 26.07.2023 from 10.30 AM to 12.30 PM in the seminar hall 5, MVJCE. The Guest Speaker for the event was Dr. K. J. Balasubramani, CEO and Director, Global scientific and research innovation center, Bangalore. The lecture was attended by 86 participants from inside (faculty and students) of MVJCE.

Dr. K.J. Balasubramani is CEO and Director, the Global scientific and research innovation center, Bangalore. He has 27 years of experience in Quality Control and Analytical Development

A Brief Account of the Lecture

The session started with the welcome address by Ashika, Student, Department of Chemical Engineering for the faculty, students, and the guest speaker. She emphasized the necessity of the Guest lecture with awareness on pollution and its source mitigation.

Guest Lecture started with a discussion on the day-to-day activities due to which pollution is created in various fields. The effect of pollution on our surroundings and environment. The pollution creates havoc and it’s a matter of major concern. The guest discussed the causes and sources of different kinds of pollution. During the lecture, it was discussed about the major threats due to pollution. The solutions were deliverable to mitigate the pollution. Various analytical instruments were also shown to the audience.

The Speaker stressed the importance of various techniques for decreasing the pollution in various areas using advanced technology. Finally, the speaker concluded the presentation by elaborating on the present pollution scenario and major threats related to it.

After the presentation, a Q&A session was conducted where the Speaker addressed the queries of attendees are clarified during the Guest Lecture session.

The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks to the MVJ management, Principal, CoE of MVJCE for providing this opportunity to gain knowledge on the Export and Import of Chemicals and its allied products. The event organizers are grateful to Guest Speaker Dr. K.J. Balasubramani for delivering informative and impressive aspects on major environmental problems as a matter of concern. He created awareness among the students and also discussed the possible solution to the source mitigation of pollutants. A special mention to ITHELPDESK and the team for their technical support during the session.

Outcome of the Event

The lecture enabled the attendees to strengthen their knowledge and create awareness on the pollution. The attendees understood the 3R’s i.e. Reduce, Recycle and Regenerate the pollutants and in turn how we can save our environment. The event was an eye opening session for attendees.
