Inaugural Function of First Year B.E Classes, for Academic Year 2022-2023

MVJ College of Engineering held the inaugural ceremony for the first-year students, marking the beginning of the academic year 2022 –2023, officially invoking the engineering minds, on 27^th November 2022, from 10.30 am to 12.00 noon, at MV Jayaraman auditorium.

The honourable Chief Guest Dr. Girish Deodhare (Director General, Aeronautical Development Agency, DRDO) chaired the event. Dr. P. Mahabaleshwarappa (Principal, MVJCE), Dr. Brindha M (Vice Principal, MVJCE), Mr. Nandhakumar K (General Manager, Honeywell Safety and Productivity Solutions, India (Alumni of MVJCE) and Dr. Antony Raj (COE, MVJCE) were the other dignitaries on the dais.

The event commenced with an invocation song by Pratigtha, followed by lighting of the lamp by the dignitaries on and off the dais, accompanied by two students from the first year.

Principal Dr. P. Mahabaleshwarappa formally welcomed the dignitaries, the students and parents to the event. During his welcome address, he shared the college report for the academic year 2021-22 with the gathering. The report summed up the achievements of the college and the students in curricular and co-curricular activities, inside and outside the campus, during the academic year 2021-22. His words encapsulating the accolades that the senior students had received will surely encourage the freshers to emulate their seniors who have become feathers in the cap of MVJCE.

Dr. M. Brindha, Vice Principal, MVJCE, welcomed our Chief Guest Dr. Girish Deodhare, (Director General, Aeronautical Development Agency, DRDO) to the dais, to address the gathering. Dr. Deodhare congratulated the young minds who had qualified to be part of MVJCE and gave an insight into the future ahead of them. He spoke about the limitless scope of being an Engineer in the upcoming years, and what they can contribute to society as an Engineer. He focussed the attention of students on the ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ movement happening in the country.

Following the Chief Guest’s address, our alumni Mr. Nandhakumar K addressed the gathering to share his experience in and out of the college. He made some very vital points regarding life in MVJCE and advised the students to utilize the facilities available at the college and interact with teachers to build their knowledge. Regarding his takeaways from his work in the industry, he said collaboration, participation and updating oneself with the latest trends are the keys to success. He also stressed on the importance of interdisciplinary interaction of students, with respect to the curriculum.

The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Dr. P. Mahabaleshwarappa. He extended his heartfelt gratitude to all the dignitaries and participants. The event finally came to a close with the National Anthem.
