The inauguration was followed with welcome speech by Dr. Shrinivas L Gombi, Dean Academics MVJCE addressing the requirement of such programs to nurture the students to bridge the gap between the industry-academia.

The lecture by Mr. Niranjan Reddy, the importance of material synthesis and their relevance in the modern-day material technology. The lecture covers briefly about the Materials processing and synthesis refers to the fabrication or artificial production of materials and may involve processes such as solution-phase chemistry of nanocrystal/nanowire materials, synthesis of polymer materials by a range of controlled polymerization techniques, inorganic synthesis by chemical vapor deposition, physical vapor deposition, and atomic layer deposition and others. Materials synthesis often involves a diverse array of disciplines including chemistry, analysis and characterization, and computational analysis. The lecture also included with technical power point presentation and few videos to show the importance of material analysis.

The seminar created an opportunity for students to understand the need for material technology in the current industrial trend.

Outcomes of the Event:

By attending the seminar, the Mechanical/Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering students of second and third year understood how to

  • Explain the mechanisms and key features of current and emerging processing techniques employed to fabricate nanomaterials.
  • Utilize the structure-properties relationship to predict the properties of a material.
  • Select the materials and properties appropriate for a specific application.
  • Describe how materials engineering products and processes positively impact global and societal issues.
