NCRTEEE-2019, the National Conference, conducted by Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, commenced at 10.00 am on 30th April 2019, with the melodious invocation song by Gowthami (UG student, 6th semester), followed by ‘lighting of the lamp’ by the dignitaries present on the occasion.
Chief Guest of the event, Dr. Subbareddy, Principal Research Scientist, Electrical Department, Indian Institute of Science, gave the keynote address. He stressed on the importance of active involvement of students and faculty members in R&D activities. He appreciated the efforts of the EEE Department, in organizing the event. The inaugural function ended at 10.30 am.
Participants, numbering 80, from various Engineering colleges in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka, registered for the event. Presentations started at 11.00 am, after the tea break. Dr. S Ananthi, Professor, Department of Electronics & Communication, chaired the session.
Students from various technological institutions presented their innovative projects. The papers focussed on energy harvesting, power quality enhancement, mitigation of power system harmonics, analysis of doubly-fed induction machine, application of fuzzy logic & neural networks, and many more. The morning session went on as per schedule, up to the lunch break at 12.45 pm.
The afternoon session started at 1.30 pm. This session had presentations mainly by faculty members. The session ended at 3.30 pm. Dr. Ananthi, Session Chair, was extremely happy with the innovative ideas put forward by the participants.
Manish and Bhavana (UG students of 6th semester) anchored the entire event, meticulously. Shruthi and Divya (UG students of 6th semester) took the initiative for the Registration and preparation of Participation Certificates. The Department of EEE highly appreciates their efforts in the successful conduction of the event.
The Conference Proceedings was mailed to all the participants. Final edited papers were forwarded to ‘Asian Journal of Electrical Sciences’, for publication as a special issue. NCRTEEE-2019 concluded at 4.00 pm.
