The 4-year B.E. Industrial Internet of Things – IIOT - course at MVJCE seeks to produce competent professionals in the Internet of Things field, who can create connected solutions and ecosystems, and kickstart their career in the emerging IoT sector. The program will facilitate the imbibing of crucial IoT skills that are needed to develop embedded systems, smart appliances and wearables, and smart homes and enterprise systems.

B.E – IIOT from MVJCE is a promising path to a successful career in the IoT field. The program aims to impart quality education, through a well-designed Curriculum and experiential learning, in tune with the changing needs of the industry. The Curriculum which incorporates the suggestions made in the NEP 2020, has been designed by experts from Industry and Academia, keeping in mind the rapidly evolving technologies in this field. All the recommendations of NEP have been carefully considered while framing the syllabus. The Curriculum offers students the flexibility to select courses, through a Choice Based Credit system. Students can get an Honors Degree, by earning extra 18 credits. This flexibility is a hallmark of NEP.

This program will cover topics like Sensor Network Design and Network Planning, understanding IoT architecture and use cases, Data visualization and IoT Security, Software engineering and Programming languages. Additionally, the program will also educate the students on the general principles of all the disciplines of Engineering, fostering a Multidisciplinary approach, one of the key tenets of NEP.

The 4-year course consists of four Basic Science Courses, six Integrated Professional Core courses, five Professional Core courses, three Internships, five Humanity and Social Science & Management courses, six Ability Enhancement courses, two Universal Human Value Courses, three Open Electives, four Professional Electives, and Industrial Training and plenty of Project Work.

In the First year, students will learn Basic Science, Engineering Science, Humanity, and Social Science. The Curriculum for the Second year has been framed to provide students a strong foundation in Electronics, Sensor and Programming. In the Pre-final and Final years, the Curriculum gives students the flexibility to choose courses in their area of interest, in the field of Electronics and Communication, thereby giving them the opportunity to choose a course in any Multidisciplinary domain.

Industrial internship training is a part of the Curriculum - students must work in an industry relating to their area of interest, for a minimum period of 4 weeks. This gives them exposure to technology in practice, and makes them familiar with an industrial environment. Research activity in the department encourages them for innovations and lifelong learning.

Thus, the IIoT Curriculum aims at producing Engineers who not only possess the required skillsets but also the strength of character and a commitment to make the world around them a better place.
