The Departmental Club of the Chemistry Department ‘Chem Life’, organized a Club activity ‘TECHNICAL QUIZ ON ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND SUPERCONDUCTORS’, on 28th January 2023, in Room No. 216. The event started at 9:15 am and ended at 11:00 am. Students found the event very interesting, interactive and beneficial, and actively took part in this Club activity.

Round 1: Preliminary Round

In this Round, 11 teams participated. The screening of the teams was done by conducting a preliminary quiz to test the participants on the basics of Chemistry. 1 minute was allotted for each question. The five teams with maximum scores were selected for the final round.

Round 2: Final Round

In this Round, the 5 teams which had qualified in the preliminary round had to answer advanced questions on Electric Vehicles and Superconductors.

The winners for the event were selected by the Coordinators Dr. Budigi Lokesh (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry) and Dr. Shwetha M (Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry).

First prize winning team:

Jeevan Kumar V (MVJ22AS284, from Aerospace Engineering) and Kavana T.S (MVJ22AS262, from Aerospace Engineering, from J section first year Chemistry Cycle).

Runner-up team:

Usha C.E (MVJ22EC279 from Electronics and Communication Engineering), Tanisha Naik (MVJ22EC371, from Electronics and Communication Engineering), Lokeshwari (MVJ22IO261, from Industrial Internet of Things) and Sneha M (MVJ22EC287, from Electronics and Communication Engineering, N section, first year Chemistry Cycle).

The winning team received a prize of Rs.1000 and certificates of appreciation. The runner-up team received a prize of Rs.500 and certificates of appreciation.

Outcome of the Event

The participants understood the significance of Electric Vehicles and superconductors in the current scenario. They understood the need and utilization of electric vehicles, their technical working and importance. This helped in inculcating in them a sense of problem-finding, too. Students actively participated in the event and enjoyed it.
