Curriculum
  • The B.E. Chemical Engineering (ChE) curriculum at MVJCE is meticulously designed to cover a broad spectrum of foundational and advanced topics in Chemical Engineering. This includes core areas such as Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat and Mass Transfer, Reaction Engineering, Process Design, and Control, along with rapidly evolving fields such as Biotechnology, Nanotechnology, and Environmental Engineering. Emphasizing theoretical knowledge and practical skills, the curriculum aims to equip students with the necessary tools to tackle contemporary engineering challenges.
  • The second year curriculum provides a robust foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. The 3rd and 4th semesters are structured with a total of 22 credits each. The curriculum includes essential courses such as Chemical Process Calculations, Thermodynamics, and Reaction Engineering, which are fundamental to understanding and designing chemical processes. Additionally, students gain hands-on experience through the courses Mechanical Operations and Process Heat Transfer.
  • The fifth semester focuses on expanding students’ understanding of mass transfer, instrumental methods of analysis, and process control and IIOT. The semester also includes courses on research methodology and intellectual property rights, along with environmental studies and the exploration of universal human values. In the sixth semester, students engage in process engineering and economics, chemical process equipment design and drawing. Both semesters are structured with 22 credits each to provide a comprehensive and balanced educational experience.
  • In the final year, students delve into Chemical Process Modeling & Simulation, gaining proficiency in computational tools and techniques for analyzing and optimizing chemical processes. They also have the opportunity to choose from a range of professional and open elective courses to tailor their learning experience to their interests and career goals.
