The Department of Mechanical Engineering, MVJCE, Bengaluru, organized an International Conference on ‘Advanced Research in Mechanical Engineering – 2019 (IC-ARME2019)’ on 29th and 30thApril, 2019. The guests were received by the Principal, Dean – R&D and Head of the Department, along with the organizing Secretary and senior faculty members of the Mechanical Engineering Department. There was a short briefing and introduction of the Guests, at the Principal’s office.
The Guests were escorted to Shri M V Jayaraman Auditorium for the inaugural function, by the Principal, Dean and other senior faculty of the department.

The participants from different states/countries gathered at MVJCE for the inauguration of the ‘International Conference on Advanced Research in Mechanical Engineering – 2019 (IC-ARME).

Dr. R Prabhu, Professor, Department of ME delivered the welcome address. The Principal Dr. Nagaraj Sitaram, MVJCE, addressed the gathering, highlighting the significance of research work in Mechanical Engineering, as well as in interdisciplinary research work.

The Technical Sessions of the Conference were conducted in Seminar Halls 4 and 5, and the Skype Presentation at the CAED LAB. Out of the 100 papers received, around 77 were shortlisted for presentation, and scheduled in 6 technical sessions. These papers were from the broad themes of Manufacturing, Production Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Design Engineering, Energy and Environment and other interdisciplinary subjects.
These Technical Sessions were chaired by Dr. Arul Prakash Jothi (Professor), Sagunthala (R&D – Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai), Dr. J Theerthagiri, (Scientist-C, Centre of Excellence for Energy Research International Research Centre, Chennai), Dr. N Beemkumar, (Associate Professor, Sathyabama Institute of Science & Technology, Chennai), Mr. Ullas Agrawal (Supplier Project Manager, Procurement – GKN Aerospace Engine Systems India Private Limited, Bengaluru) and senior faculty members of the MVJCE, Bengaluru. The conference concluded with the valedictory function at noon.
The conference has provided a vibrant platform for sharing of knowledge and information among researchers, academicians, and people from the industry from the field of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering and related areas.
