Techno E-Sports (Unlock 2.0)

The NIC Club of MVJCE was proud to host this event for all the students. The event Techno E-Sports (Unlock 2.0) is the ultimate cryptographic skills like basic decryption and deciphering and consists of 2 rounds which was played as a group of 2. The scores of both the rounds were added, to decide the winning group for the event.

Both the rounds of the event were conducted on 15 September 2023 Seminar Hall 5. It started at 10:30 am and ended at 12:30 pm. Mr. Santhosh Nagaraj (DevOps engineer at Harman International) judged the event which was coordinated by Event Coordinator Mr. Amit Kumar sir. Around 100 (50 teams) students from CSE and AIML Department participated in the event.

Speaker at the Event:

Mr. Santhosh Nagraj is a dedicated learner, CI/CD expert at SAP, UI developer, and helping development teams with Jenkins pipeline automation with build security scans and deploy to multiple could providers. Mr. Santosh Nagraj concentrates, plans, and researches numerous design concepts to select the best ones that will lead people to believe that the product was especially created for them.

He has experience as a UI developer, DevOps Architect build and release management

Event Format:

The event was divided into two rounds, each designed to test different aspects of the participants’ coding and problem-solving capabilities

Round 1 (Qualifying Round):

DECIPHER AND UNLOCK:

  • In this round, one of the team members was hand cuffed by cable tie and other member had to decipher the given text. Every team were given 3 cipher text which had to be deciphered by the member who was free and had to release the handcuffs of his partner.
  • All the students participating were enthusiastic about completing Round 1. The event co-ordinators and the student co-ordinators started the event exactly at 10:30 am and the time duration for Round 1 was only 30 minutes.
  • Round 1 was completed at around 11:00 am, with the results being announced. The top 13 teams were qualified for round 2.

Round 2 (Final Round):

RAPID FIRE:

  • The final round of this activity was “Rapid fire” where the top 16 teams who qualified from Round 1 were divided into 2 groups of 8 team each.
  • It was a Quiz, hosted in the MultiBuzzer App. We had a quiz on a few of the trending CSE topics/domains like Blockchain, Artificial intelligence, Machine Learning, Ethical Hacking, Forensics, etc. Each group were asked 10 questions and top 2 scoring teams from each group were sent to decider round.
  • The final decider round was held between 4 rounds and top 2 teams were announced as winner and runner up teams respectively.

Conclusion:

The Techno E-Sports (Unlock 2.0)– The Challenge gave a forum for 220 motivated youngsters to demonstrate their talents and problem-solving abilities. The Decipher and unlock round and the Rapid fire put players accuracy, computational skills, and critical thinking to the test. The event successfully encouraged healthy competition and fostered a spirit of learning among the participants. It was organized by the NIC Club and supported by faculty members to provide a positive and gratifying experience for everyone engaged.
