The 4th Edition of TEDxMVJCE was held on 26th May, 2023, at MVJ College of Engineering. The TEDx event hosts Rodney from 4th year ECE and Vatsala from 1st year CSE introduced the theme of this year’s TEDxMVJCE, ‘Odyssey’, highlighting the importance of the journey, alongside the destination. Through their captivating opening remarks, they urged the audience to embark on a voyage of personal growth and discovery.

Aditya Krishnan, the TEDx organizer of the previous edition, welcomed everyone, sharing his remarkable journey in organizing TEDx. His words resonated, emphasizing the power of collaboration, dedication, and the transformative nature of collective efforts. The audience was truly inspired by his talk.

Mr. Vishnu Vardhan, a renowned Investor, took the stage as the first TEDx speaker. With expertise and conviction, he delivered a thought-provoking talk on the universality of success. Emphasizing on individuality, Mr. Vishnu challenged the audience to discover their own unique paths, igniting a spark of introspection and inspiration in their minds.

Harry D Cruz, a mesmerizing beatboxer, joined forces with Rohit Gowda, a celebrated playback singer from the blockbuster film KGF 2, for an electrifying performance. Their collaboration filled the crowd with infectious energy, combining beatboxing artistry and soul-stirring vocals to create an unforgettable musical experience that reverberated throughout the event. The audience was captivated by their talent and were left in awe of the dynamic synergy between these two exceptional artistes.

Praachi Nagpal, the adorable winner of Miss World India, 2022, delivered a powerful TED Talk, recounting her personal journey to the coveted crown, confronting the challenges of stereotypes, head-on. With authenticity and grace, she shared her experiences, shedding light on the impact of societal expectations on her journey. She stressed on the importance of breaking free from stereotypes and embracing one’s unique identity. Many in the audience were able to empathise with her.

Dhwani, MVJCE’s very own Music Club, came up with a scintillating performance that enthralled the audience. Their harmonious melodies and soulful compositions created a mesmerizing ambience, showcasing the talent and passion of each member.

Mr. Bruce Lee Mani, the acclaimed lead guitarist and vocalist of the band ‘Thermal and a Quarter’, gave a captivating speech about his profound musical journey. Sharing an inspiring anecdote, he recounted the challenge of creating one song a day, for 30 consecutive days. His life story highlighted the power of discipline, creativity and perseverance, leaving the audience spellbound by his dedication to his music. Aspiring musicians among the audience were certainly inspired by his talk, as were everyone else.

Krithi Vangala, a skilled Bharatanatyam dancer from MVJCE, delivered an enchanting and elegant dance performance. Her graceful movements and expressive eyes showcased the beauty of Bharatanatyam.

Food for the soul was followed by Food for the body – it was lunchtime, and each attendee was given a food coupon to avail the lunch.
Comedian Ms. Punya Arora let the audience have a peek into her journey through the comedy space, and what exactly it takes to be funny. Her captivating storytelling skills had the audience hooked.

Post-lunch, it was the turn of Nrityatrix, the Dance Club of MVJCE, to mesmerize the audience with an astounding performance. Their impeccable choreography and synchronized movements set the stage on fire.

The next speaker at TEDxan inspiring environmentalist. She told the audience about how she had left the corporate world to follow her heart – saving the earth. She stressed on the urgent need for a meaningful change in the world. Her passionate advocacy for the environment and commitment to sustainability evoked a sense of responsibility in the audience, to vow to work towards a greener future.

Karen Vincent, a talented comedian, delivered an entertaining stand-up comedy act that left the audience in splits. Her spontaneous wit, humour and relatable stories had the crowd enjoying every moment, creating a lively and laughter-filled atmosphere.

Mr. Vishnu Ambat, the visionary founder of Kalakarah, a highly successful graffiti and mural art company, said that he had defied convention by leaving his engineering job to pursue his true passion: art. His bold decision paid off, as Kalakarah soared to great heights, creating awe-inspiring wall art and murals across India, and around the world.

In their closing address, the organizers of the current edition of TEDxMVJCE, Vishal Gali and Shreya Tandon, expressed their gratitude to the TEDx team. They extended heartfelt thanks to the renowned Guest Speakers and the audience, for their presence and support. As the hosts, Rodney and Vatsala signed off, the audience dispersed with lasting memories of the event.
