The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) and Industrial IoT is planning an Add-on Lecture on the topic “Communication Networks” for the 6th semester students of EC(ACT) & IIoT department on 17th March 2026. Dr. Parimal Parag, Associate Professor in the Department of ECE at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will be delivering the lecture. He is an expert in communication systems, communication networks, distributed computation, and distributed storage. Students will greatly benefit from his insights and expertise in these advanced topics.

The Department of Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering is organising a guest lecture on “Aircraft Mission Integration” on 17 March 2026, aimed at enhancing the understanding of how various aircraft subsystems combine to enable successful mission‑oriented operations. This session will focus on the integration of avionics, propulsion, navigation, payload, communication systems, and mission‑planning frameworks, providing participants with a holistic view of multidisciplinary coordination in aviation. The lecture will highlight real‑world applications spanning defence missions, surveillance operations, disaster‑relief deployments, and commercial aviation, demonstrating how system‑level engineering ensures safe, efficient, and mission‑ready aircraft performance.

The programme is designed for 100 participants, including undergraduate students, postgraduate scholars, and faculty members, offering them valuable exposure to the foundational principles of mission integration. By exploring subsystem interactions and mission‑specific requirements, attendees will gain the ability to analyse operational needs and evaluate integrated aircraft performance in diverse scenarios. This event serves as an enriching platform for learners to build strong conceptual and application‑level knowledge in modern aerospace mission engineering.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will be conducting a 3-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Application of CFD in Thermal and Fatigue Analysis” from 16.03.2026 to 18.03.2026. This FDP aims to equip faculty with the knowledge to:

  • Understand the fundamental and advanced principles of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and their application in solving real-world thermal and fatigue-related engineering problems.
  • Develop proficiency in using CFD software tools for modelling, meshing, simulation, and post-processing of thermal and structural fatigue analyses.
  • Analyse complex heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermal stress phenomena using numerical methods to enhance teaching and research capabilities.
  • Integrate CFD-based insights into academic curriculum and laboratory work to improve students’ understanding of thermal engineering and mechanical design.
  • Enhance research output by adopting simulation-driven approaches for project guidance, publication, consultancy, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

The esteemed experts of FDP are Dr. Vimala Narayan (Scientist, DRDO), Dr. Ramana Murthy K V (Scientist ‘F’, Deputy Project Director, ADA), Dr. Thejaraju (Head of Modelling and Simulation, Fusion Minds), Mr. Alok Hegde (Intellectual Property Attorney), Dr. Ninge Gowda (Director and Technical Lead, SS Integrated Tech Solution, LLP, Bengaluru) and Mr. Dinesh S, (CFD- Lead Onward Technologies, Bengaluru).
