The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) is organising an industrial visit to the IISc Open Day on 7th March 2026 for the students of the EC(ACT) department. This industrial visit is expected to provide students with direct exposure to cutting-edge research demonstrations, state-of-the-art laboratories, and innovative projects showcased across the various departments. Students will gain enhanced understanding of real-world scientific applications, research methodologies, and emerging technologies through interactions with IISc faculty members, researchers, and student innovators.

The Department of Industrial IoT will be conducting a Club Activity titled “Coding Challenge using Python Programming” on 14.03.2026. This club activity aims help students develop logical coding skills using Python programming.

The activity aims to:

  • To expand students’ coding skills and foster innovation using Python concepts
  • To improve problem-solving skills, promote collaboration, write efficient and readable Python code, solve complex problems using Python libraries and frameworks, implement algorithms and data structures, handle errors and exceptions, and optimize code for performance.

The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) and Industrial IoT is planning an Add-on Lecture on the topic “Communication Networks” for the 6th semester students of EC(ACT) & IIoT department on 17th March 2026. Dr. Parimal Parag, Associate Professor in the Department of ECE at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will be delivering the lecture. He is an expert in communication systems, communication networks, distributed computation, and distributed storage. Students will greatly benefit from his insights and expertise in these advanced topics.

The Department of Industrial IoT will conduct a Guest Lecture on “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Robotics and Automation” on 14.03.2026. This guest lecture aims to equip students with the knowledge:

  • To explore the transformative impact of AI on robotics and automation, covering cutting-edge technologies
  • To understand the applications, challenges, and emerging trends in the field of robotics
  • To explore AI-powered robotics, industrial automation applications, autonomous systems insights, and address challenges and future directions related to robotics.

The Department of Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering is organising a guest lecture on “Aircraft Mission Integration” on 17 March 2026, aimed at enhancing the understanding of how various aircraft subsystems combine to enable successful mission‑oriented operations. This session will focus on the integration of avionics, propulsion, navigation, payload, communication systems, and mission‑planning frameworks, providing participants with a holistic view of multidisciplinary coordination in aviation. The lecture will highlight real‑world applications spanning defence missions, surveillance operations, disaster‑relief deployments, and commercial aviation, demonstrating how system‑level engineering ensures safe, efficient, and mission‑ready aircraft performance.

The programme is designed for 100 participants, including undergraduate students, postgraduate scholars, and faculty members, offering them valuable exposure to the foundational principles of mission integration. By exploring subsystem interactions and mission‑specific requirements, attendees will gain the ability to analyse operational needs and evaluate integrated aircraft performance in diverse scenarios. This event serves as an enriching platform for learners to build strong conceptual and application‑level knowledge in modern aerospace mission engineering.
The Department of Civil Engineering is organising a 2-day workshop on Application in Software Analysis on March 2–3, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This program is designed to bridge theoretical foundations with practical approaches, giving students hands-on exposure to modern tools and techniques essential in today’s software industry. The sessions will cover program testing, performance evaluation, and implementation examples that highlight industry applications and challenges, equipping participants with the skills to address contemporary issues in software system analysis.

The workshop will be led by Mr. Anil Ghaste, Founder & Technical Director of ISCT Group and Autodesk Certified Instructor, who brings over 32 years of expertise across Civil Engineering, Mechanical, and Computer Science domains. Under his leadership, ISCT Group has pioneered specialised divisions such as Global Infotech, Global Designs, Global BIM Academy, Global Edutech, and Global FutureTec, driving innovation in the Civil & Allied sectors. The Department of Mechanical Engineering will be conducting a Department Advisory Committee Meeting to discuss the 2026 Curriculum on 14.03.2026
 
This DAC meeting aims to equip students with the knowledge to:

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will be conducting a 3-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Application of CFD in Thermal and Fatigue Analysis” from 16.03.2026 to 18.03.2026. This FDP aims to equip faculty with the knowledge to: 

  • Understand the fundamental and advanced principles of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and their application in solving real-world thermal and fatigue-related engineering problems. 
  • Develop proficiency in using CFD software tools for modelling, meshing, simulation, and post-processing of thermal and structural fatigue analyses. 
  • Analyse complex heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermal stress phenomena using numerical methods to enhance teaching and research capabilities. 
  • Integrate CFD-based insights into academic curriculum and laboratory work to improve students’ understanding of thermal engineering and mechanical design. 
  • Enhance research output by adopting simulation-driven approaches for project guidance, publication, consultancy, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will conduct an Industrial Visit to the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, on 07.03.2026.  

This industrial visit aims to equip students with the knowledge to: 

  • Gain exposure to advanced research laboratories in areas such as robotics, materials science, fluid dynamics, manufacturing, and thermal engineering. 
  • Understand cutting-edge technologies and ongoing research projects that demonstrate real-world applications of core mechanical engineering concepts. 
  • Interact with researchers, faculty, and research scholars to learn about the latest innovations, methodologies, and opportunities for internships or higher studies. 
  • Observe live demonstrations, experimental setups, and prototype models to bridge the gap between classroom theory and practical engineering practice.
