The Department of Aeronautical Engineering will organise an industrial visit on Thursday, 23rd October 2025. The one-day industrial visit is planned for the Helicopter Division of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore. The students of the 5th Semester A section will be visiting the Components Manufacturing, Structural Assembly and treatment section of the HAL helicopter division. This visit is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices, offering students a unique opportunity to observe and understand the practical applications of the concepts they study. The visit also aims to inspire students to pursue careers in the aviation and defence sectors by exposing them to cutting-edge engineering environments.

Speaker: Dr. Ramanjaneyulu Naidu from CABS, DRDO

The Department of Aerospace Engineering will organise an add-on lecture for the CFD course on Thursday, October 16th. Dr. Ramanjaneyulu Naidu will conduct the session from CABS, DRDO and will run for two hours. Students from 7th AE and 7th AS will be attending, along with participants from other classes who are interested in the topic. The lecture will cover a key portion of the CFD syllabus while also providing insights into the latest industrial and research practices. This will help students connect theoretical learning with real-world applications and emerging trends in the field.

The Department of Electronics Engineering (VLSI Design and Technology) will conduct an add-on lecture titled “Understanding the VLSI Design Flow: From RTL to GDS” on 19th September 2025.

This lecture will be delivered by distinguished speaker, Mr. Vikas Kalkeri, Principal Design Engineer, NXP Semiconductors. The session will delve into the fundamentals of Register Transfer Level (RTL) design, synthesis techniques, logic optimisation, and technology mapping, followed by an exploration of physical design steps such as floor planning, placement, routing, and timing analysis. Participants will also gain insights into verification strategies and the final tape-out process, culminating in GDSII file generation.
