SRISHTI Club, Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, organized an event PIPE TYCOON, on 27th February, 2023. The main objective of the event was to enhance the students’ knowledge about pipes, valves, plumbing fixtures, tanks and other apparatuses used to convey fluids. The participants were encouraged to complete a pipe network modelling for a residential building, with detailed specification, within the allotted time of 3 hours. Based on the detailed model and technical explanation by the participants, prizes were awarded by the members of an expert committee. The event was conducted in Drawing Hall 148 and Seminar Hall 4. 102 students from the Civil Engineering department participated in this event.
The Event comprised of two Rounds.
ROUND 1: Preparation of a pipeline network model by the students, using innovative ideas (8.30 am – 11.30 am)
The students were divided into teams, with a maximum of 10-12 students in each team. They were given specifications for preparing a pipeline model for a residential building.
ROUND 2: Presentation of the Model developed (11:30 am – 12:30 pm)
The students presented their models to the Chief Guest Mr. G. S. Manjunatha (Asst. Envi. Officer, Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bangalore)
Announcement of Result (12:30 pm – 01:15 pm)
The Chief Guest gave the Keynote Address, after which the results were announced.
Rules and Instructions
- Those who get the maximum score will be placed higher in the rank list.
- The decision of the organizers with respect to the results will be final. No queries in this regard will be entertained.
- Any participant found to be indulging in any form of malpractice will be immediately disqualified.

Outcome of the event
The event helped to foster a healthy interaction among participants. It motivated them to make models, and improved their presentation skills. It made them understand what the Industry expects from a Civil Engineer. It also helped in bridging the gap between Industry and Academics.
