Three-Day FDP on Computational Fluid Dynamics in Thermal Engineering

default event

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will be conducting a 3-Day Faculty Development Programme on “Application of CFD in Thermal and Fatigue Analysis” from 16.03.2026 to 18.03.2026. This FDP aims to equip faculty with the knowledge to:

  • Understand the fundamental and advanced principles of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and their application in solving real-world thermal and fatigue-related engineering problems.
  • Develop proficiency in using CFD software tools for modelling, meshing, simulation, and post-processing of thermal and structural fatigue analyses.
  • Analyse complex heat transfer, fluid flow, and thermal stress phenomena using numerical methods to enhance teaching and research capabilities.
  • Integrate CFD-based insights into academic curriculum and laboratory work to improve students’ understanding of thermal engineering and mechanical design.
  • Enhance research output by adopting simulation-driven approaches for project guidance, publication, consultancy, and interdisciplinary collaborations.

The esteemed experts of FDP are Dr. Vimala Narayan (Scientist, DRDO), Dr. Ramana Murthy K V (Scientist ‘F’, Deputy Project Director, ADA), Dr. Thejaraju (Head of Modelling and Simulation, Fusion Minds), Mr. Alok Hegde (Intellectual Property Attorney), Dr. Ninge Gowda (Director and Technical Lead, SS Integrated Tech Solution, LLP, Bengaluru) and Mr. Dinesh S, (CFD- Lead Onward Technologies, Bengaluru).
