The “UAV – Develop Drones” ability enhancement course is designed to equip participants with the knowledge and practical skills necessary to excel in this exciting field. The participants will embark on a comprehensive journey that covers the entire drone development process, from conceptualization to deployment.

  • Students of MVJCE have been the consistent winners of National Aerospace Conceptual Design Competition (NACDeC), for all the seven editions since its inception in 2017.
  • Our students have built drones for agriculture and surveillance and successfully competed in the Orissa Government under Skill India initiative in 2018.
  • Received gold, bronze medals in NDRF National Student Design Competition.

MVJCE collaborated with National Instruments for establishing a Centre of Excellence with a lab on LabVIEW. The lab is used to train and certify MVJCE students on the LabVIEW Platform. MVJCE was conferred the LabVIEW Academy Award by National Instruments of India, on the occasion of NI Day 2014, at a function held in Bangalore, India, on 18/9/2014. Students use this lab to develop projects such as Sign language translator to text and speech using LabVIEW. NI Certification has helped students’ bag lucrative job offers in top companies including NI and inspired few others to start their entrepreneurial journey.

The Robotics and Industrial Automation Laboratory at MVJCE was established in 2015 under the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering. The lab is well equipped with the latest in advanced tools and equipment; enabling students to bring their ideas to life provisions are available in the lab for all the students and faculties to build in-house projects.

  • Received Rs. 1 lakh as the First prize, for ‘Gesture Talk – providing a voice to the voiceless’ project at Pravega Innovation Summit, held during January 2018, by IISc. Bangalore.
  • Students designed robots that can float in water and play soccer.

The Software Development Club was Started in 2016. The motive of Software Development Club was to impart to students the importance of coding, developing applications and knowing about the various design tools and desktop computing techniques used in the industry currently. The knowledge of recent technology and services used in application development is also roofed in the club.

The applications developed in the club include Kiosk for MVJCE (MVJ Way Finder), MVJ Student Notice Board (A Broadcast Application), MVJ Library Book Requisition Software, leave Automation Software and Proctorial Automation System.

Idea Box was inaugurated in October 2015 by Dr Anil K Gupta, Founder of Honey Bee Network, IIM Ahmedabad. Idea Box is a vertical with the purpose of receiving students’ ideas for projects related to societal and industrial needs. The ideas focus on developing projects relevant to various in-house projects, which include Automatic Fuel Evacuation, Thermocol House, Recycling waste to produce components to aircrafts, Smart Gas stove, Medical Drones, Office Peon Robot and Emergency Response Traffic Signaling System. Some significant societal projects include Women safety, Sound city, Profit from waste and Hybrid Energy Harvesting. Some of the noteworthy business ideas projects include Book Buddies, Getting Tailored, Smart Digital Advertisement in cars and Greenville e-commerce.

The Astronomy Club was inaugurated on 8th September 2015, by Dr. P Sri Kumar, Director, Indian Institute of Astrophysics, Bangalore. Under the auspices of this Club, students visit Planetariums and Observatories, to observe terrestrial and celestial events. Students are also trained to make Telescopes. Right now, the students are developing Radio telescope in MVJCE and students are also involved in astronomy related research projects.

The Foundation Skills in Integrated Product Development (FSIPD) was introduced and inaugurated by Mr Vasantha Kumar Narayan, General Manager, Robert Bosch, Bangalore and member of Board of Governors, MVJCE., in the month of June 2016. FSIPD program helps to enhance the industry readiness of students who want to start a career in engineering companies in the area of Integrated Product Development. The Program helps students to obtain technical skills needed to effectively play the entry level design engineer role in an engineering organization, understand the product development methodologies and management and develop product management plan for a new product based on the type and development methodology. The prototypes developed include Indoor Quality Monitor, ECO BIKE, STELLER: (The Radiations Force (Solar Charger for Car Battery), E Trolley, H cone and Bicycle operated Blender for Rural India Team

CNC machining is a manufacturing process in which pre-programmed computer software dictates the movement of factory tools and machinery. The CNC Laboratory at MVJCE consists of MTAB XL Turn, XL Mill and ARISTO 6 Axis Pick and Place Robot. The facility gives exposure to students on the Computer Aided Manufacturing and Automation to help them develop the basic CNC programming skills required for matching the current day Industry needs.

  • CNC 2D Pen Plotter
  • CNC 2D Rangolli Plotter

This Lab aims to equip the students with the practical concept of IoT systems design. It provides an overview of the aspects of IoT systems, including embedded intelligence, connectivity, interaction with the physical world, etc.

It covers the main design and implementation issues for IoT devices and their applications. The students gain in-depth practical experience in embedded system design, with a focus on IoT applications as well as communication in connected devices.

Students are trained to deal with industrial devices that use sensors to monitor and optimize operations. Students are familiarized with the basics of Internet of things and protocols. IOT Based Crop Monitoring System, IOT Based Smart Camera, Waste Segregation Using Smart Dustbin are some of the projects developed by students.

These programmes vastly helped to inculcate creative and innovative thinking in students, to train them to develop problem-solving skills, and also to give them an opportunity to design and develop meaningful projects that provide solutions to some of the societal / industrial problems. Considering all the above MVJCE has revamped its curriculum, taking into consideration the recommendations of

We have incorporated all the suggestions and designed a new curriculum in which all the innovative activities (verticals) are given credits, to recognize students’ innovative ideas.

The aspirations of MVJCE have been to build effective programmes which will enable the meticulous transformation of students, transforming them into highly motivated graduates and postgraduates, enriched and armed/equipped with professional competence, managerial skills, built-in dynamism and humanism. MVJCE has always been quality conscious, and continuously strives to attain higher levels.
