Guest Lecture on “Recent Advanced Techniques in Additive Manufacturing

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will conduct a Guest Lecture on “Recent Advanced Techniques in Additive Manufacturing” on 13.02.2026.  This guest lecture aims to equip students with the knowledge to:

  • Understand recent advances in additive manufacturing technologies, including metal AM, multi-material printing, and hybrid manufacturing processes.
  • Identify advanced materials and process innovationsused in modern additive manufacturing, such as high-performance polymers, composites, and functionally graded materials.
  • Analyse real-world industrial applications and case studiesof advanced additive manufacturing in aerospace, biomedical, automotive, and tooling sectors.
  • Recognise current challenges, trends, and future directionsin additive manufacturing, including design for AM (DfAM), sustainability, and Industry 4.0 integration.

Club Activity on “New Product Design

The Department of Mechanical Engineering will conduct a Club Activity titled “New Project Design” on 13.02.2026. This club activity aims to help students develop and design new products.

This club activity is organised to:

  1. Develop logical and analytical thinkingamong mechanical engineering students through Python-based problem solving relevant to engineering applications.
  2. Introduce computational thinking in new product design, enabling students to model, simulate, and optimise design concepts using programming tools.
  3. Bridge the gap between mechanical engineering and modern digital skills, highlighting the role of coding in automation, data analysis, and smart product development.
  4. Enhance interdisciplinary skills and industry readiness, preparing students for emerging roles that require integration of design, programming, and innovation.

MVJ College of Engineering is pleased to announce the Industry–Academia Conclave 2026, scheduled to be held on 14th February 2026 at the Smt. Rajalakshmi Jayaraman Seminar Hall, MVJCE Campus. His distinguished presence and visionary insights are expected to inspire and guide the deliberations of the day.
The conclave will bring together eminent industry professionals, academicians, and curriculum designers to discuss strategies for enhancing engineering programs. The sessions will focus on:
  • Engineering Foundation Courses (1st & 2nd Semesters)
  • Fundamental Engineering Courses (3rd, 4th & 5th Semesters)
  • Finishing School Concepts (6th–8th Semesters)

The Department of Chemical Engineering is organizing an industrial visit to Resil Chemicals on 25th February 2026 for VI semester students.
This visit will provide students with practical exposure to specialty textile chemistry, nanotechnology-based fabric finishes, and sustainable chemical practices. They will gain insights into industrial-scale formulation, quality control, and eco-friendly innovations, while also learning about global certifications such as OEKO-TEX and SA8000.
The visit bridges classroom concepts with real-world applications, enhances awareness of sustainability in chemical industries, and inspires career opportunities in research, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) is organising an industrial visit to the IISc Open Day on 7th March 2026 for the students of the EC(ACT) department. This industrial visit is expected to provide students with direct exposure to cutting-edge research demonstrations, state-of-the-art laboratories, and innovative projects showcased across the various departments. Students will gain enhanced understanding of real-world scientific applications, research methodologies, and emerging technologies through interactions with IISc faculty members, researchers, and student innovators.

The Department of Industrial IoT will be conducting a Club Activity titled “Coding Challenge using Python Programming” on 14.03.2026. This club activity aims help students develop logical coding skills using Python programming.

The activity aims to:

  • To expand students’ coding skills and foster innovation using Python concepts
  • To improve problem-solving skills, promote collaboration, write efficient and readable Python code, solve complex problems using Python libraries and frameworks, implement algorithms and data structures, handle errors and exceptions, and optimize code for performance.

The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) and Industrial IoT is planning an Add-on Lecture on the topic “Communication Networks” for the 6th semester students of EC(ACT) & IIoT department on 17th March 2026. Dr. Parimal Parag, Associate Professor in the Department of ECE at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, will be delivering the lecture. He is an expert in communication systems, communication networks, distributed computation, and distributed storage. Students will greatly benefit from his insights and expertise in these advanced topics.

The Department of Industrial IoT will conduct a Guest Lecture on “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Robotics and Automation” on 14.03.2026. This guest lecture aims to equip students with the knowledge:

  • To explore the transformative impact of AI on robotics and automation, covering cutting-edge technologies
  • To understand the applications, challenges, and emerging trends in the field of robotics
  • To explore AI-powered robotics, industrial automation applications, autonomous systems insights, and address challenges and future directions related to robotics.
