The Department of Aeronautical Engineering will organise an industrial visit on Thursday, 23rd October 2025. The one-day industrial visit is planned for the Helicopter Division of Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Bangalore. The students of the 5th Semester A section will be visiting the Components Manufacturing, Structural Assembly and treatment section of the HAL helicopter division. This visit is designed to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world industrial practices, offering students a unique opportunity to observe and understand the practical applications of the concepts they study. The visit also aims to inspire students to pursue careers in the aviation and defence sectors by exposing them to cutting-edge engineering environments.
The Department of Mathematics will be organising an insightful guest lecture by Prof. G.D.Veerappa Gowda on 25-10-2025. The main objective of the event is to educate first–year Engineering students on the usage of differential equations in the reconstruction of a 3-dimensional object from a two-dimensional image, along with the individual applications of differential equations.
Speaker: Prof. G. D. Veerappa Gowda, TIFR Centre for Applicable Mathematics, Bangalore.
The Department of Mathematics will be organising a Club Activity: “Maths Mastery” on 25-10-2025. The main aim of this club activity is to make sure that an individual applies the basic mathematical knowledge to some of the logical questions. The club activity is mainly of two rounds: the preliminary round and the final round. The activity is for the first-year UG students from both the physics and chemistry cycles. The students are expected to participate in groups with a maximum of 2 members.
Preliminary round: The groups will be given 15 logical mathematics questions with a time duration of 20 minutes. The groups that give the maximum correct answers in a short period of time will be qualified for the final round.
Final round: higher-level logical and aptitude-based mathematical equations, along with pictorial puzzles, will be given. Based on the performance and time, the winner and runner-up will be selected.
The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) will be hosting a one-day workshop on Signal Processing Applications using MATLAB on 23rd October 2025. This workshop will offer valuable insights and practical exposure to signal processing techniques to our students, guided by industry expert Dr Anand Mukhopadhyay, Senior Engineer, MathWorks, Bangalore.
Department of Basic Science, MVJ College of Engineering, will be organising a three-day workshop titled “Innovative Teaching Methods: Boosting Student Engagement and Academic Success” on November 19th, 22nd, and 29th, 2025. The sessions will be led by Dr Ashok Rao, Former Head, Network Project, CEDT (now DESE), IISc Bangalore, and Dr Arulalal Rajan, Formerly Assistant Professor, Dept. of E&C, NITK Surathkal, currently associated with CCE and NPTEL courses at CEDT (now DESE), IISc Bangalore. This program aims to empower educators with forward-thinking strategies in engineering pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment. The sessions will explore the evolution of teaching styles, the role of research in undergraduate education, and the integration of design thinking and entrepreneurship into academic frameworks. Participants will engage in case studies on curriculum reforms, interdisciplinary models, and inquiry-based learning. The workshop also highlights digital assessment platforms, project-based learning, and innovative pedagogies tailored for 21st-century learners. An open house session will foster dialogue and idea exchange beyond the scheduled topics.
