The Departments of Aeronautical, Aerospace and Chemical Engineering are organising a three-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on Application of Computational Fluid Dynamics in Aerospace Engineering from 10th to 12th December 2025. The FDP aims to provide faculty members, research scholars, and postgraduate students with an exposure to advanced CFD applications in aerospace. The programme features distinguished experts including Dr. Vimala Narayan, Former Scientist G and Technical Director, GTRE, Bangalore, who will speak on understanding fluid flow in gas turbine engine ducts; Dr. Nikhil Shende, Founder & CEO of S&I Engineering Solution Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore, on high performance computing in CFD; Dr. KVL Narayan Rao, Chief Manager (Design), AERDC, HAL Engine Division, Bangalore, on CFD analysis of aero engine combustion systems; Mr. Prakash Raj, Scientist E, ADA, Bangalore, on Physics Informed Neural Networks for CFD; and Mr. Dinesh Sivaraman, Lead Analyst, Onward Technologies Ltd., Chennai (Client: Caterpillar India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore), who will cover heat transfer and thermal fluid flow with multiphase flow modelling, as well as turbomachinery, rotating flows, and combustion modelling. This FDP will serve as a valuable platform for participants to gain insights into state-of-the-art CFD tools, real-world aerospace applications, the chemical industry and emerging AI-driven approaches, while fostering networking opportunities with leading scientists and industry professionals.
