Department of Basic Science, MVJ College of Engineering, will be organising a three-day workshop titled “Innovative Teaching Methods: Boosting Student Engagement and Academic Success” on November 19th, 22nd, and 29th, 2025. The sessions will be led by Dr Ashok Rao, Former Head, Network Project, CEDT (now DESE), IISc Bangalore, and  Dr Arulalal Rajan, Formerly Assistant Professor, Dept. of E&C, NITK Surathkal, currently associated with CCE and NPTEL courses at CEDT (now DESE), IISc Bangalore. This program aims to empower educators with forward-thinking strategies in engineering pedagogy, curriculum design, and assessment. The sessions will explore the evolution of teaching styles, the role of research in undergraduate education, and the integration of design thinking and entrepreneurship into academic frameworks. Participants will engage in case studies on curriculum reforms, interdisciplinary models, and inquiry-based learning. The workshop also highlights digital assessment platforms, project-based learning, and innovative pedagogies tailored for 21st-century learners. An open house session will foster dialogue and idea exchange beyond the scheduled topics.

About INNOVEX-25:
INNOVEX-25 is the flagship Project Expo that celebrates the spirit of innovation and creativity among our students. This dynamic platform is designed to spark new ideas, promote interdisciplinary collaboration, and showcase the exceptional talent of budding engineers from across Karnataka.
This year’s expo will feature projects under three major themes:
  • TECHNOLOGY
  • SOCIAL
  • CREATIVE
These themes will be explored through 15 diverse sub-themes, encouraging participants to address real-world challenges with ingenuity and impact.
An attractive prize pool of ₹1.05 lakhs will be awarded to the most outstanding projects.

VertechX is the annual tech fest organized by MVJ College of Engineering in Bangalore, India, bringing together students and tech enthusiasts from diverse colleges and universities. This vibrant event provides a stage for participants to demonstrate their technical expertise and insights.

VertechX 13.0 features a wide range of activities, including competitive events, hands-on workshops, and informative seminars across various technology domains, such as robotics, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and cybersecurity. This year, VertechX introduces Pixelate-a journey through the unexpected intersections between expectation and reality is scheduled during 14th November 2025 to 15th November 2025 with the Prize money of Rs.3,00,000/-.

The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) will be organising a Club Activity titled “Circuit Design Challenge using PSpice/MultiSim” on 13th November 2025. This activity, conducted under the ACTive8 Club, aims to foster creative and practical circuit design thinking among students, introduce them to professional simulation platforms like PSpice and MultiSim, and cultivate teamwork and problem-solving skills through real-world electronics challenges. The winners of this challenge will be awarded with cash prizes and certificates, which will be presented by Dr K J Vinoy, Professor at the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

The Department of Electronics and Communication (Advanced Communication Technology) will be organising a Guest Lecture on RF energy harvesting and wireless power transfer on 13th November 2025. This lecture will be delivered by Dr K. J. Vinoy, Professor at the Department of Electrical Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and will be an insightful exploration of emerging technologies that enable devices to be powered wirelessly by capturing ambient RF signals, unlocking new possibilities for energy-efficient, autonomous systems in modern electronics.

The Department of IIOT will be conducting a Club Activity titled – “Circuit Design Challenge using IoT Devices” on 22.11.2025

This club activity is to explore students with the knowledge of project building with IoT devices.

Students will pitch their ideas on topics related to –

  1. Smart Home Automation: Members can work together to design and build a smart home automation system using Arduino, Raspberry Pi, or other IoT platforms.
  2. Wearable Device Development: Members can design and build wearable devices, such as fitness trackers or smartwatches, using IoT technologies.
  3. Environmental Monitoring: Members can build and deploy environmental monitoring systems to track temperature, humidity, air quality, and other factors.
  4. IoT Device Programming: Do programming in IoT devices using languages like Python, C++, or Java.
  5. Sensor Integration: Develop prototypes that integrate various sensors, such as temperature,

humidity, and motion sensors, with microcontrollers.

The Department of IIOT will be conducting a Guest Lecture titled “Navigating the Future: Product Management in the Era of Cloud Computing” on 22.11.2025

This guest lecture is to equip students with the knowledge of product management and the mindset to leverage cloud technology for innovation and strategic advantage.

  • Introduce the fundamentals of cloud computing and its impact on product management.
  • Share industry experiences and trends in cloud-based product management.
  • Discuss essential skills required for product managers in the cloud era, such as agility, scalability, and customer-centricity.
  • Explore strategies for developing and managing cloud-based products.

The Department of Chemistry at MVJ College of Engineering is organising a guest lecture titled “Roadmap to a Successful Engineer” on 19th November 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:40 PM in the college auditorium. This event is specially designed for first-year B.E. students to inspire and guide them as they begin their academic journey in engineering.

The guest lecture will be given by Dr T. Ram Prabhu, Joint Director and Scientist ‘E’ at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). Dr Prabhu holds a PhD in Engineering Design from IIT Madras and a Master’s degree from IISc Bangalore. With over a decade of experience in aerospace research and development, he will bring valuable insights into the design, certification, and application of advanced materials for airframe and aeroengine components. His session will highlight the evolving role of engineers in national development and the importance of innovation, interdisciplinary learning, and industry readiness.

The lecture will cover key themes including academic foundations, skill development, emerging technologies, professional ethics, and research exposure. An interactive Q&A session will follow, allowing students to engage directly with the speaker and faculty.

The event is expected to benefit over 450 first-year students by helping them gain clarity of purpose, exposure to real-world applications, awareness of essential skills, motivation to pursue meaningful careers, and strategic insights into academic planning. This foundational experience will aim to empower students to take ownership of their learning and envision a purposeful engineering future.

The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering is organising an E-FORZA Club Activity titled “Bits & Volts – Bridging Analog and Digital Worlds” for 3rd semester students on 22nd November 2025 at 1:00 P.M. The session will be led by Mr Sunil Patra, Program Manager at Rakuten Symphony, a distinguished expert in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering.

This engaging event is designed to enhance students’ practical skills in circuit design and simulation, provide exposure to real-world problem-solving in electronics, and foster teamwork and communication through collaborative tasks. Participants will have the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge in hands-on scenarios, encouraging innovation and critical thinking. Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded to the winners, making this an exciting and rewarding experience for all attendees.
