TEDx is a grassroots initiative, created in the spirit of TED’s overall mission to research and discover “ideas worth spreading.” TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. Started as a four-day conference in California 30 years ago, TED has grown to support its mission with multiple initiatives. TEDx brings the spirit of TED to local communities around the globe through TEDx events. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. MVJ College of Engineering has received licence from TEDx, named TEDx MVJCE.

First TEDx MVJCE

First TEDx MVJCE was conducted on 31st October 2020. The key Speakers for the event were ‘The Recycle Man’ – Mr. Binesh Desai, ‘The Queen of Compost’ – Smt. Vani Murthy and ‘Kachra Mane’ – Mr. Dasarathi G V.

Second TEDx MVJCE

The second TEDx MVJCE was conducted on 24.07.2021 and 25.07. 2021. The key Speakers for the event were Padma Bhushan Dr. B. N. Suresh, Chancellor, IIST, Thiruvananthapuram, Chairman, GC, MVJCE, Prof. Rajani Paranjpe, Professor (Mrs.) Rajani Paranjpe founded the Doorstep School out of a passion for children and education, Mr. Luigi Cemli , CEO at Lufthansa Technik Services India, Mrs. Aarati Sunawala, Dancer and owner of Tarantismo Creative Dance Company, Mr. Arun Prabhu, Founder of the Billboards collective, he recently won the Hindustan Times 30 under 30 for Architecture, Mr. Praveen Gulabrani, Global Head of Enterprise Transformation using Intelligent Automation, AI/ML, and Cloud at Wipro Limited and Ms. Aishwarya Pissay, An Indian circuit and off-road motorcycle racer.

Third TEDx MVJCE

The third TEDxMVJCE 2022 was held on 30th July 2022 at Dr. M. V. Jayaraman Auditorium. 7 speakers were invited to speak about their experiences and thoughts. The speakers were all from different fields of specialization and age groups with their own unique stories and individual experiences, synonymous to the theme SPECTRUM. The speakers for the event are Padma Bhushan Dr. B. N. Suresh, Chancellor, IIST, Thiruvananthapuram, Chairman, BoG, Mr. Navlakhi, a business coach, Mr. Guhan Subramaniam, co-founder and director of an NGO, Mr. Bhaskar Rao, a former commissioner in service to the Bangalore City Police, by Dr. Mythri Shankar, a physician, Mr. Richard David Tholoor, a multitalented dancer, Padma Bhushan Dr. B. N. Suresh, Chancellor, IIST, Ms. Varna Prakash, a young food blogger.

Fourth TEDx MVJCE

The 4th edition of TEDxMVJCE was conducted on 26th May 2023 at MVJ College of Engineering. The theme was ‘ Odyssey ‘. The speakers of the event were – Mr. Vishnu Vardhan a renowned finance investor, Ms. Praachi Nagpal, the winner of Miss World India 2022, Bruce Lee Mani the acclaimed lead guitarist and vocalist of the band Thermal and a Quarter, Punya Arora, a Stand-up comedian, Ms. Divya Hegde, an inspiring environmentalist, Vishnu Ambat, founder of Kalakarah, successful graffiti and mural art company.

Fifth TEDx MVJCE

“Metamorphosis” Event Report On June 22, 2024, the TEDx event was held at the Dr MV Jayaraman Auditorium, MVJCE, Whitefield, Bangalore. Organized by TEDxMVJCE, the event brought together a diverse group of speakers and an enthusiastic audience, aiming to inspire and educate through a series of insightful talks and performances. The commencement included a TED video that set the tone for the day’s inspirational talks, and an introduction by the hosts. Vishal and Shreya delivered a speech that highlighted the significance of TEDx events in spreading ideas and fostering community engagement. Their eloquent articulation of the event’s theme was both inspiring and engaging. Know More
