B.E. Industrial Internet of Things (IIOT)

How do you help decide what is best for your child? We are here to guide you!

Curriculum
  • The Industrial Internet of Things curriculum is geared towards providing the student with a strong foundation in the discipline, an exposure to and understanding of the wide-ranging applications of this technology, the skills of analysis and design for engineering new systems, and the competencies that will enable them to think out of the box and innovate, to address new and challenging problems.
  • The Industrial Internet of Things curriculum equips students with knowledge in the fields of Signal and Image Processing, Analogue and Digital Electronics, Industry 4.0, Advance IIOT, Robotics, Wireless and Fiber Optical Communication, Real Time Operating Systems
  • The second year curriculum provides a robust foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. The 3rd and 4th semesters are structured with a total of 40 credits. The curriculum includes essential courses such as Analog Electronics, Digital Electronics, and Control systems, which are fundamental to understanding and designing the electronics circuits. Additionally, students gain hands-on experience through the courses communication systems and Digital circuits design. The semester also includes courses on Social Connect Responsibility, Biology for engineers and the exploration of universal human values. Ability Enhancement Courses are offered from the second year onwards, with options to select from 11 verticals / clubs to hone innovative thinking and creativity.
  • The fifth semester focuses on expanding students’ understanding of Digital Signal Processing, Artificial Intelligence, Cryptography and Machine Learning. The semester also includes courses on Research Methodology and Intellectual Property Rights, along with environmental studies. In the sixth semester, students explore into the core courses like ARM Microcontroller, Digital Image Processing and Soft Computing. Both semesters are structured with 40 credits to provide a broad and balanced instructive experience. The semester also includes foundational courses on Indian Knowledge System to enrich the Indian Heritage and Culture.
  • In the final year, students delve into Computer Communication Networks Modeling & Simulation, gaining proficiency in Antenna & Wave Propagation, Cloud Computing tools and techniques. They also have the opportunity to choose from a range of professional and open elective courses to mold their learning experience to their interests and career goals. Students undertake Project, where they apply their knowledge and skills to a comprehensive project in Industrial Internet of Things. They also participate in a research or industrial internship and present a seminar, culminating their undergraduate studies with practical experience and academic rendezvous.
  • The curriculum includes a variety of elective subjects that allow students to explore niche areas and advanced topics such as: Wireless Sensor Networks, 5G Fundamentals and Architecture, Optical Communication, Soft Computing Techniques, Virtual and Augmented Reality, Networks and Cyber Security, Satellite Communication and Digital Image Processing.
  • The curriculum includes open electives from other engineering and science disciplines like Python Programming, Cyber Security, Introduction to Data Science, Ethical Hacking, Nano Science & Nano Technology, Smart Sensors and Systems for Industrial Applications and Automotive Engineering. These electives allow students to explore diverse fields, enhance their knowledge base, and integrate concepts from different areas of study, ultimately contributing to their overall development as well-rounded professionals.
  • Students pursuing a major in Industrial Internet of Things have the opportunity to earn an Honors degree or a Minor degree in specialized areas by accumulating an additional 18 credits. This provision aligns with NEP’s vision of offering flexible and specialized education paths.
  • The curriculum places significant emphasis on practical training and real-world experience. Students engage in extensive lab work, internships, and project-based learning, addressing societal and industrial problems. Students are encouraged to pursue certification courses from platforms like NPTEL, Swayam, MOOC and Infosys Campus Connect to supplement their formal education. These certifications help students stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field of Industrial Internet of Things.
  • The aim of the Industrial Internet of Things curriculum is to produce well-rounded professionals equipped with technical expertise, ethical values, and a scientific temper. By integrating theoretical knowledge with practical skills and emphasizing ethical and societal responsibilities, the Industrial Internet of Things curriculum at MVJCE prepares students to become competent and responsible engineers ready to tackle the challenges of the modern world.
  • The 4-year course consists of four Basic Science Courses, six Integrated Professional Core courses, five Professional Core courses, three Internships, five Humanity and Social Science & Management courses, six Ability Enhancement courses, two Universal Human Value Courses, three Open Electives, four Professional Electives, and Industrial Training and plenty of Project Work.
  • In the First year, students will learn Basic Science, Engineering Science, Humanity, and Social Science. The Curriculum for the Second year has been framed to provide students a strong foundation in Electronics, Sensor and Programming. In the Pre-final and Final years, the Curriculum gives students the flexibility to choose courses in their area of interest, in the field of Electronics and Communication, thereby giving them the opportunity to choose a course in any Multidisciplinary domain.
  • Industrial internship training is a part of the Curriculum – students must work in an industry relating to their area of interest, for a minimum period of 4 weeks. This gives them exposure to technology in practice, and makes them familiar with an industrial environment. Research activity in the department encourages them for innovations and lifelong learning.
  • Thus, the IIoT Curriculum aims at producing Engineers who not only possess the required skillsets but also the strength of character and a commitment to make the world around them a better place.
