SRISHTI Club, Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, organized an event ‘Model making of campus layout for LEED certification’, on 6th December, 2022. The main objective of the event was to encourage students to look beyond their textual knowledge and co-relate the theories they learn in the classroom with the application of these learnt concepts. The event was conducted in the Drawing Hall Room. Around 80 students and all the faculty members from the Civil Engineering department participated.

The Event comprised three rounds.
ROUND 1: Model Making (09.50 am – 01.00 pm)
The students were divided into teams, with a maximum of four students in each team. They were given a specific layout and told to prepare a model, incorporating all the essential LEED features like socio ecological systems, green energy, effective waste management etc.
ROUND 2: Model Presentation (01:30 pm – 02:30 pm)
The students presented their models to Chief Guest Mr. C R Manjunath, Environmental officer (Regional Officer), Karnataka State Pollution Control Board, Bangalore.
Announcement of Result (02:30 am – 03:30 pm)
Rules and Instructions
- Those who get the maximum score will be placed higher in the rank list.
- The decision of the organizers with respect to the results will be final. No queries in this regard will be entertained.
- Any participant found to be indulging in any form of malpractice will be immediately disqualified.

Outcome of The Event
The event helped to foster a healthy interaction among participants. It helped them learn green building concepts with LEED. It kindled their ideas, and prompted them to deliver models with ecological relevance, through knowledge, skills and professional expertise.
