A two-day Workshop on M2M and IOT Interfacing Design Protocols for Embedded Systems was organized by the ECE and IIOT Departments, on 14th and 15th June, 2023. The Workshop, which was an amalgamation of lecture sessions, and project expo and demonstration by the students. received an overwhelming response, with 30 participants from various departments of MVJCE.
About the Workshop
The programme was presided over by Dr. V. Suresh Babu (Principal, MVJCE) and Dr. M. Brindha (Vice Principal, MVJCE).
The focus of the Workshop was on the state-of-art concepts of machine-to-machine interface and the framework of IOT, and the cloud concepts for developing prototypes and systems.
Day 1 (14.06.2023): Session I (Inauguration Ceremony and Forenoon Session)
The Workshop began with Ms. Britney Naomi, 6th semester ECE student, welcoming the Guests and the gathering. The Resource Speaker of this session was Dr. Kurian Polachan, Assistant Professor, IIIT, Bangalore. Ms. Hritwika, 4th semester IIOT student, introduced Dr. Kurian Polachan. As a token of appreciation, a memento and bouquet were presented to him by Dr. V. Suresh Babu, Principal, MVJCE. The Principal then welcomed the Speaker and the audience.

After this, Dr. Kurian Polachan took over the session. The focus of the session was on Introduction to Internet of Bodies and Human Body Communication. The session included a complete overview of human body communication, the sensors used, different methods of communication, existing challenges and current projects. The session was enriched with information about practical prototype implementation. The participants came to know about the facilities available in the IIIT lab which students could use, and thereby associate themselves with these labs.
Day 1 (14.06.2023): Session II (Afternoon Session)
In the second session, the students presented their projects, in teams. The projects included Smart Glove System for the Deaf and Dumb, Collision Avoidance System, Automatic Door Locking System, Smart Agriculture System and Intruder Detection System. Dr. Sunil Shankar Waddar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering, and Dr. Sajithra Varun, Assistant Professor, Department of IIOT, evaluated the projects.
