Mr Ravishankar
M K Mr Ravishankar M K is an Associate professor and Head of the Department, of Mechanical Engineering. He has obtained Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, graduated, B.E in Mechanical Engineering and Post graduation, M.Tech (Product design and Manufacturing) from R V College of Engineering. At present he is pursuing Ph.D. He has 8 years of experience (6 Years of teaching & 2 Years of Industry). He is a Associate member of INSTITUTION OF ENGINEERS (INDIA) and Life member of INDIAN SOCIETY FOR TECHNICAL EDUCATION. He has been adjudged as best academic teacher in the year 2010-2011 at MVJCE. He is also attended and presented papers in national conferences and published one of his papers in international journal.

Basic Workshop
Introduction to Fitting and Welding Equipments. Preparation of the Specimen for Fitting and Welding. Models like T Joint, L Joint, Lap Joint and Butt Joint in Welding. In Fitting, students prepare assembled models of triangular, dovetail, semicircular and rectangular joint, etc.
CAMD Lab
Orthographic Projections – Sections of Solids – Riveted Joints – Screw Fasteners – Couplings – Assembly drawings for Screw Jack, Plumber Block, Machine Vice, Tailstock, IC engine piston, Connecting rods and tool head of a shaper.
CIM & automation
Manual Part programming for turning, parting, thread cutting – operations in lathe – Drilling – Milling – Operations for different profiles. Computer Assisted Part Programming using CAPS turn, CAPS mill, See turn, See mill – using this applications simulation of lathe, milling, drilling operations.
Computer Aided Engineering Drawing

Material Testing Lab
Preparation of Specimen – Studying the Microstructure for materials like High Carbon Steel, HSS, Mild Steel, Cast Iron, Brass, Copper, Aluminum, etc, – Studying the Mechanical Properties using destructive testing like Impact, Tensile, Compression, Wear, Fatigue tests – nondestructive tests like dye penetrating, magnetic detector, ultrasonic sound.
