National Aircraft Conceptual Design Competition III (NACDEC III) on “Conceptual design and sizing of a High Altitude Long Endurance Aerial Platform (HALEAP)” was conducted by Design Division of Aeronautical Society of India with Prof Rajakumar Pant – IIT Bombay as the organizing Secretary. The competition was announced during the finale of NACDEC – II itself (August 17, 2019) and formal announcement came on November 02, 2019. Initially nealy one hundred teams submitted their willingness and their concept on January 30,2020. Out of those, only 25 teams were shortlisted for the second submission on July 07, 2020. As the third round, only five teams out of twenty five teams were shortlisted on August 30, 2020. Those five teams are permitted to present their concept in Final Design Report, Poster Presentation with the highlights of design concepts. The grand finale held on September 12, 2020. Our MVJ Team named “ABHIMANYU 3” has won the first prize in the whole of the competition after three elimination rounds. The MVJCE – Abhimanyu 3.0 team has touched all the points of the conceptual design of the given aircraft with the flawless analysis. The highlight is that the bought-outs like solar panels and electric engines are provided with the corresponding images, specifications and vendor details. It is announced by Prof Pant that our MVJCE – Abhimanyu 3.0 team has consistently ranked first in every stage.
