A Guest Lecture on ‘Distress in Concrete Pavements - Causes, Precautions and Solutions’ was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, on 11th February 2021, at 9:00 am, in Seminar Hall 4. Around 60 students (UG and PG) and faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering participated in this program. The guest speaker was Dr. Ramachandra V (Joint President - Technical, Ultra Tech Cement Ltd., Mumbai). This seminar was intended to stimulate the knowledge on Concrete Technology, Pavement construction, Repair and Rehabilitation in Structural and Transportation Engineering.

A Guest Lecture on ‘Smart and Sustainable Cities in India - The Infrastructure Requirements’ was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, on 8th November 2019, at 1:00 pm, in Dr. M V Jayaraman Auditorium. Around 150 students, faculty members and non-teaching staff of the Civil Engineering Department participated in this program. The lecture was delivered by Prof. M.N. Sreehari, Advisor to Government of Karnataka for Traffic, Transportation & Infrastructure, Chairman – Indian Smart Cities Development.

A Guest Lecture on ‘Advanced Wastewater Treatment’ was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, on 23rd November 2019, at 10:30 am, in Seminar Hall 6. Mr. Bhaskar Sharma, Director Bisineer Engineering India Pvt., Ltd., was the speaker of the day. The main objective of the event is to provide the importance on Advanced Wastewater Treatment process. Around 100 students, faculty members and non-teaching staff of the Civil Engineering Department participated in this program.

Department of Civil Engineering organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Remote Sensing, GIS and DEM for Water Resources Assessment’ on 21st September 2019 on account of Engineers Day Celebration. The event was conducted at 10:00 am in Dr. M V Jayaraman Auditorium. Dr. D. Nagesh Kumar, Professor, Dept. of Civil Engineering, IISc, Bengaluru delivered the lecture. Around 150 students, faculty members and nonteaching staff of the Civil Engineering Department participated in this program.

A Guest Lecture on ‘Pitfalls in Soil Investigations and the Consequential Failures of Structures’ was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, on 31st August 2019. The event started at 10:00 am. Prof. B. R. Srinivasa Murthy [Professor (Retd.), IISc., Civil Engineering Department, Advisory Consulting Civil Engineer] delivered lecture to 150 students, faculty members of the Civil Engineering Department in Rajalakshmi Jayaraman Seminar Hall.

Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Challenges in Underground Metro Railway Construction, for 5th and 7th semester BE Civil Engineering students. The event was conducted in Seminar Hall 4 on 1st September 2018, at 9.30 am. The main objective of the event is to provide the exposure on underground metro rail construction activities. The Guest Speaker was VIKAS CHANDRA [Assistant Executive Engineer in BMRCL, Bengaluru].

Department of Civil Engineering, MVJCE, organized a Guest Lecture on ‘Application of Rock Mechanics in High Rise Constructions’, for the Second year BE students, in Seminar Hall 6. The event was conducted on 1st September 2018, at 9.30 am. The Speaker was Mrs. Praveena Das Jennifer, Scientist C, Environmental and Exploration Geophysics Department (EEGD) who was also associated with S&T Project - ‘Seismic monitoring in old mining areas and Structural Monitoring of surface structures in urban areas’.
