Curriculum
  • The B.E. in Information Science and Engineering (ISE) provides a strong foundation in computing, programming, and problem-solving skills that are important for students’ career growth. B.E Major Honor Degree courses give core knowledge needed for jobs in s oftware and IT fields, while honors courses help students learn advanced topics and gain deeper understanding. Minor Degree courses allow students to learn subjects from other areas, which improves their skills and opens more career options. This combinati on helps students improve their knowledge, build practical skills, and adapt to changing technologies. Overall, it supports both academic growth and better career opportunities in industry or higher studies.
  • The curriculum is comprehensively designed to remain current and industry-relevant, with revisions undertaken every four years and, from 2025 onwards, updated annually to keep pace with rapid technological advancements. It is aligned with industry requirem ents through inputs from domain experts and incorporates emerging areas such as Data Analytics , Data Visualization, Big Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence , Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Java Frameworks, Full Stack Development, Parallel Computing, Blockchain Technology and Cloud Computing for career enrichment under autonomous system and help students think creatively and solve engineering problems. The teaching–learning process adopts innovative methodologies including flipped classrooms, project-based and activity-based learning, and role-play techniques, while experiential learning is strengthened through hands-on laboratory sessions, case studies, seminars, workshops, and e-learning resources. The curriculum follows a Choice Based Credit System with a total of 160 credits.
  • The curriculum includes professional elective courses such as Digital Image Processing, Software Testing and Automation, NoSQL Databases, Cryptography, Computer Vision, Internet of Things, Distributed Systems, Mobile Application Development, UI and UX Desi gn, Natural Language Processing, Generative AI and LLM, Robotic Process Automation, Information and Network Security, Cyber Security and Ethical Hacking, Deep Learning, DevOps, and MLOps. Open elective courses include Introduction to Data Structures, Fundamentals of Object-Oriented Programming, and Fundamentals of Operating Systems.

  • Students develop strong industry-ready competencies by gaining hands-on experience in key domains such as Big Data, Data Visualization, Full Stack Development, Machine Learning, Computer Networks, Python, and Java. This practical exposure enhances their ab ility to design, develop, and deploy scalable solutions, analyze and interpret complex data, and build end-to-end applications, thereby strengthening problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and readiness for real-world engineering challenges. For designing the curriculum, inputs were collected through industry–academia conclaves, and feedback was gathered from faculty, students, parents, alumni, industry experts, and academic professionals.
  • The curriculum provides two internship options to support student learning and industry exposure. In Scheme A (Swappable Semester), students who get a 15-week internship before the 4th year can study 8th semester courses first and do the internship in plac e of 7th semester, while others follow the regular order and complete the internship in 8th semester. In Scheme B (Two-Semester Internship), students with no backlogs up to 6th semester and a confirmed 180-day internship can take special permission to star t early and focus on a longterm internship. If they do not meet the conditions or face any issues, they will move to Scheme A. This system gives flexibility and ensures all students get proper internship opportunities.
  • Apart from learning all these subjects , Students have opportunity to become a Hadoop skilled professional through the Hadoop Skill Development Lab, and learn AEC (Ability Enhancement Courses) to build product development skills, Professional Ethics teac hes moral values in the workplace, Universal Human Values focus on understanding human behavior and relationships, Indian Knowledge System provides awareness of traditional knowledge and culture, and Biology for Engineers helps students understand basic biological concepts useful in engineering applications.
  • Projects help students understand and solve both societal and engineering problems by applying what they have learned in real situations.
