M Tech - Electronics and Communication Engineering (Advanced Communication Technology)

Curriculum
  • The Advanced Communication Technology curriculum is geared towards providing the student with a strong foundation in the discipline, an exposure to and understanding of the wide-ranging applications of this technology, the skills of analysis and design for engineering new systems, and the competencies that will enable students to think out of the box and innovate, to address new and challenging problems.
  • The curriculum for a Postgraduate (PG) program in Advanced Communication Technology typically covers a range of advanced topics in communication systems, networking, signal processing, and related areas.
  • The First-year curriculum provides a robust foundation in both theoretical and practical aspects of the field. The 1st and 2nd semesters are structured with a total of 40 credits. The curriculum includes essential courses such as Advanced Digital Signal Processing, Advanced Communication Systems and Advanced Engineering Electromagnetics, Software defined Radio, Massive MIMO networks, 5G and beyond, which are fundamental to understanding and designing the Communication technologies.

  • The Second Year focuses on research or industrial internship leading to Project work/Start-up, along with suggested online MOOC courses. It is structured with 40 credits to provide a broad and balanced instructional experience.
  • The curriculum places significant emphasis on practical training and real-world experience.  Students engage in extensive lab work, internships, and project-based learning, addressing societal and industrial problems. Students are encouraged to pursue certification courses from platforms like NPTEL, Swayam and MOOC to supplement their formal education. These certifications help students stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in the field of Advanced Communication Technology.
  • The aim of the Advanced Communication Technology curriculum at MVJCE prepares students with a strong theoretical foundation along with practical skills in designing, analysing, and implementing advanced communication systems and technologies, preparing them for careers in industries such as telecommunications, networking and also to be responsible engineers ready to tackle the challenges of the modern world.
